After numerous technical discussions with the manufacturer - they could not solve the screen saver disappearing after 15 minutes (just quits.) Not energy saver related. They promptly refunded my money, though. Doesn't happen with Marine Aquarium 2.6, G-Force, etc. Mac Pro 2.8 GHz dual quad core, 8GB, Mac OS 10.5.6, 24" monitor running @ 1900 x 1200 [alert admin]

MailSteward 8.0.7 (Mac OS X)
Seamless automated backup of all my e-mail. Fantastic support for a program at a fair price. I consider it a must have for all my Macs. [alert admin]

VisualHub 1.33a (Mac OS X)
This would be a great program if it only converted subtitles properly (such as handbrake, which BTW is the only app that can.) We have asked the developer for this inclusion many times... [alert admin]

Every time you press a settings button for a movie, security, or a photo - the program crashes, making it completely unusable. No response from the developer. Want a refund. Using Quicktime 7.4.1 with Mac OS 10.5.2, and supported quartz extreme - with an iSight camera. [alert admin]

Terrible Software - Black Screen only ![]()

After installing, get only a black screen. Tried unplugging everything, retuning, etc. No video - black screen only with audio. Using Leopard 10.5.1. Others on their support forum pages seem to point to an incompatibilty with Sonnett G4 upgraded processors (1.8 GHz dual processor installed on an 450 MHz AGP grahics G4.) ATI 9700 Graphics card. 10.5.1 Kernel panics and crashes ![]()

After installing the 10.5.1 update, my computer would not boot, and I got some weird error message about the CPU. I'm wondering if it's related to the Sonnett dual 1.8 GHz processor upgrade in my G4 (AGP graphics.) I tried to repair using the original Leopard disk - didn't work. I then had to do a complete restore (erasing my hard drive) from Time Machine (which took 2 hours.) I was also unable to get into single-user mode. I then unplugged all USB and Firewire connections and tried installing the 10.5.1 update again. This time there was no kernel panic after reboot, but it hung at the grey Apple screen. I am again restoring to 10.5.0, and have no plans to try this update again. [alert admin]

VisualHub 1.29 (Mac OS X)
I have an iPod touch and was using this previously for converting eyeTV MPEG-2 files. The iPod touch files are quickly converted with no skips or problems. Using this to convert .mov files instead of QuickTime results in a better visual experience. This is the greatest software on the market. Everything works seamlessly, and the end-to-end integration of all the file formats is perfect. [alert admin]

CallWall 0.92 (Mac OS X)
I have tried this program for 3 months and am a regitered user. It doesn't work if it's 1. minimized in the dock, 2. not the frontmost window (i.e. if the finder is in the foreground and this window is in the background - it fails), and 3. if it's been operating longer than 36 hours, it fails. No documentation, and the deeloper does not respond to issues. [alert admin]

Another reason for Handbrake - if you ever want to watch a DVD on your iPod Touch/Video in silence (while at a long boring meeting at work, for instance), Handbrake is the only app that will allow you to include subtitles. As many times as we've all requested, Visual Hub still does not handle subtitles from ripped DVD's!

I agree totally. Version 2.0 has too much junk. Version 1.4 is the only way to go.
