EasyFind 4.5 (Mac OS X)

Fails with Mac OS X 10.4.9 too

Version 4.5 opens on my MacBook running OS X 10.4.9, but no EasyFind window will open. It looks like all we need is for the developer to correct the list of "Operating System Requirements" to exclude Tiger. This version is clearly for Leopard only. [alert admin]

iClip 4 (Mac OS X)

I'm glad I tried version 4 --- finally!

I have owned version 4 since it was released, but have been afraid to install it due to all the negative feedback on this page. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I impulsively upgraded from version 3, and I'm VERY happy with the upgrade. I'm not doubting other people's experiences or perceptions, but much of what we read here is very subjective and sometimes based upon the chemistry created by the reviewer's particular mix of software. The UI is clearly unique, and I'd be happier with the older look, but the new look is still functional. Version 4, for me (running OS X 10.4.8 on a MacBook), is faster and more functional than version 3. It doesn't crash the computer or slow it down, and it is not hard for me to identify the desired text or images through those little portholes :-) . I find the new version of iClip to be faster, more stable, and more compatible, than the previous version. Since I paid for it before it was even released, I'm certainly glad that I finally installed it. I surely am getting my money's worth. By the way, I had planned on waiting for version 4.1, hoping it would address the many problems mentioned on this page, but with no update after the first few months, I emailed the developer to find out if one was in the works. I received a prompt reply; therefore, I believe a prior complaint that the developer is unresponsive is inaccurate or, at least, not universal. [alert admin]

Daylight Saving Time Fix 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't fix Menu Bar clock

I have to agree with mlharg. Some applications recognize the time change and some don't but, most importantly to my dad (with an iMac G4 running 10.3.7) and my wife (with an iBook G3 running 10.3.9), the Menu Bar clock didn't change to DST. The clock in the Date & Time preference pane changed, but not the one that shows in the menu bar. Any chance you can, uh, fix the fix? [alert admin]

Firefoxy 1.3.4 (Mac OS X)

What is it? Huh?

OK. I give up. How exactly do these "fancy widgets" manifest themselves? I have installed Firefoxy, but I see absolutely no clue as to what it is, what it does, or how it works. I assumed that it would become self-evident, but I'm obviously incorrect. Am I being out-firefoxed? [alert admin]

Security is the key

Actually, the LACK of security appears to be the key to getting a successful download. I tried with almost every imaginable web browser, and I couldn't download in any. Then I opened OmniWeb and, before trying the download, I removed ALL POSSIBLE web security preferences. That satisfied MediaFire and I successfully downloaded the software. I believe OmniWeb had nothing to do with it, except that it was easy to deselect everything that improves security in…

Osirus loads improperly:

I get the same result on my MacBook running OS X 10.4.9. I was hoping to try the previous version, but it is no longer posted for downloading.

Beware of Upgrade Pricing

I'm confused by the use of the word "beware" in the title of this post. Beware of upgrade pricing? The poster proceeded to calmly and clearly describe a perfectly normal and reasonable upgrade pricing policy. Nothing to fear. No danger.

"check for updates" under help menu of Firefox

Getting a newer version by using the "Check for updates..." feature accomplishes the same thing as just downloading a new copy of the application. Functionally, there is no difference. As far as your themes, extensions, etc. associating with the updated version, that isn't a problem. However, you might find that some of your favorite add-ons have not yet been updated for compatibility with 2.0. Once you start 2.0, be sure to use the Tools menu…

Known Issues - 05/01/2003

Where are the feedback statements? When I go to the window which is supposed to have feedback, there is an indication that there is no feedback. This is despite the fact that the main page indicates that there is a LOT of feedback. Could you specifically post this as a known issue?
