Fantasktik 1.0 (Mac OS X)
neat program.. but needs a few things: 1. autohide/show the bar 2. a hot key to show/hide the bar 3. alter the shade/color of the background bar (transparent would be nice) 4. set delay for show/hide bar 5. set delay for show/hide previews 6. adjustable icon size, adjustable badge size (they are so small) very good for a 1.0 though. i'll be keeping an eye on this one. Little Snitch 2.0.4 (Mac OS X)
Having multiple problems with 2.04 that I didn't with 2.03, lots of spew to the console log as well. Might want to hang back until 2.05 if you haven't upgraded already. Excellent application otherwise! [alert admin]

MacPilot 3.1 (Mac OS X)
well i love this app, but this new version is buggy for me. i can't select an item in the left side list. it's like i'm click dragging and selecting everything. only happens in that list. i can't select a single item and get the appropriate pane. previous version doesn't have this problem. VisualHub 1.32 (Mac OS X)
when it comes to conversion you can't get much better. simple to use, simple controls, and even an advanced mode to let you "screw things up." oh wait, forgot about the very reasonable price! i mostly use this to convert media for viewing on my iphone & ipod and even for my limited usage it's well worth the cost over other applications (and i've tried several). strongly recommended! Thoth 1.8.4 (Mac OS X)
here comes brian and the drama again.. just remember people. b.clark has a history of updating thoth, whining about people not downloading/installing/using/paying him fees, and withdrawing it from the market. repeatedly. for anyone considering paying the shareware fee please look into the history before you support this product and consider the alternatives. this "upgrade" is minor at best and doesn't take advantage of any of the new technologies from leopard. there are plenty of other great newsreaders (like unison) that are more worth your money. i registered thoth years ago, got tired of the games and moved on, never looked back. hawkeye 1.0.9v16 (Mac OS X)
once a great product, this seems to be abandoned. several emails to the developer have gone unanswered and the support forums are disabled. please be careful if you choose to register this software. [alert admin]

Eve Online 4.10.51200 (Mac OS X)
this should not be listed as freeware as you have to pay to play the on-line game. [alert admin]

StuffIt Deluxe 12.0 (Mac OS X)
why does anyone use this any longer? the SITX format isn't open and the software is constantly released with many bugs, expensive upgrades and questionable "improvements." what was once the crown jewel of compression utilities has turned into a tarnished lump of fool's gold. save your money and use the free utilities built into OS X and available elsewhere. Yahoo! Messenger 3.0 beta 2 (Mac OS X)
why yahoo is incapable of putting out a decent mac product, especially considering when they bought the crew who wrote "konfabulator" which was an excellent mac application. yahoo messenger has been available for years and has yet to turn out a decent, full-featured mac application. [alert admin]

The latest version of MTR is not free but requires a $40 "donation" and is tied to one computer. MTR is also great for ripping but not converting a DVD. Handbrake will rip and convert, is free, and has great presets. Visual Hub will transcode video between formats, great for converting AVI files pulled from the net into native formats for iPods, iPhones, etc. For what it does and how much it is it's an…

i have to agree. the tabs aren't even tabs. there's no markings to distinguish between them. i just have a long metallic looking bar of words and icons. saft and pithhelmet are both gone. i hardly call this "progress" has apple been copying off of vista now?!?!

who cares how big it is, it's an OS update. if you consider updating your OS "bloatware" then don't do it, and don't complain about problems and crashes.

Given your requirements iTunes is obviously not the program for you. Why whine about it? Just go find something else.

actually it only puts a watermark on the 640x480 sized image. smaller sizes don't get watermarked. yes, this is more a demo for the paid version of the application. but it does work and is free. check the web site for more information on the pro and studio versions.

It should be noted one can't "copyright" a name. One can registered a name as a "trademark". As also stated, many products, services, companies, etc. also share the same or similar names. As long as all parties involved make make it clear such products/services/companies/etc. are separate and non-infringing all is typically well. In case, VT is hardly the forum for trotting out such issues. If you have anything constructive to post about the application and it's…

well. given that this is a mac product, it wouldn't take much creative hacking on your own to open up the bundle, find the offending audio files, and either remove them or replace them with something of your choosing (even a silent file). try right-clicking on the application and select "show contents" to get started. it's a shame they won't let you disable it, but if you don't like their program you're free not to use…

no offense, but this isn't anything you couldn't have written yourself with automator and applescript. you can even have scripts attached to watch folders. all this application does is take advantage of what's already there.
