Direct Connect 1.1.0 (Mac OS X)

Crashes on launch in 10.3.8

Just downloaded it. Opens an information window and a download browser, then crashes within about 2 seconds after launching. I'm using Mac OS 10.3.8. [alert admin]

SAM Broadcaster 3.2 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Playlists and queues are virtually unusable

I run a popular Latin radio station on the Net. I need software that allows me to control my playlists. There is nothing more infuriating than trying to work with a piece of software that won't let me have this control. When I want to drag and drop a song entry into a playlist, I want it to go exactly where I put it, and to play exactly when I schedule it. SAM 3 does not allow this. I have tried in many different ways using a playlist made in SAM 2. If you want to change a playlist or queue that you've previously made, forget it! When you drag and drop a playlist entry into a playlist, SAM3 puts it at the bottom of the playlist. Dragging it back up to where you want it to play does not work. It simply pops back down to the bottom when it comes up for play. I have worked with a lot of audio players, most of them FREE. Audion, iTunes, Winamp, Megaseg, and many others, allow drag and drop. I should also be able to move an entry around in a playlist. SAM3 won't let me do that either. As you know, a track title in a playlist is a shortcut to the actual file. When you drag or copy a song entry from one playlist to another, the information to find the path to the file goes with the shortcut. That is normal in every single audio player I have ever used, but NOT in SAM3. The people who designed SAM3 have left out some very basic functions that every audio player has. Worse, the player does not do what the Help files say it will do. This is software design at its very worst. [alert admin]

Trashed after the first try...

I downloaded RBrowserLite, hoping to use it to connect to a particular site that my Fetch was having trouble navigating. This program not only couldn't connect to the site I wanted, but it couldn't connect to other sites I CAN connect to with Fetch. The connection "timed out." When I pressed "display transcript," RBrowserLite simply "unexpectedly quit." Programs like this one that don't do what I want them to do on the first try simply get dragged to my trashcan... Bye Bye! [alert admin]
