Syncing is getting worse with each version 
Syncing has gotten progressively worse from version to version. I give it three stars because if it worked, it would be wonderful, but it works less and less well over time. [alert admin]

CodeTek VirtualDesktop Pro 4.0b1 (Mac OS X)
Good: Beta for Intel Mac now available. Bad: Doesn't work.
I downloaded the Intel Mac beta and installed it (it required a reboot), and tried to launch it. After a dialog asking for my admin password and telling me to relaunch, nothing else happened. The system logs and crash logs tells me there was a major crash because of "unsafe use of @executable_path". [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.2.2 (Mac OS X)
Kernel panic, will not start up. The uninstaller of course only works on the disk you started up on, but I can no longer start up on the one it borked. Off to find lcc.kext I guess. Never again. [alert admin]

Ignore my previous post. The default prefs do not allow copying. To get the program to work, you must go into prefs and uncheck "one finder copy process". -1 star for shipping with default prefs that don't work. Thanks to the developer for quickly answering an email about this. [alert admin]

Compares libraries, but doesn't copy files. On my dual G5, it dies with an error. On my dual G4, it just doesn't copy any files. [alert admin]

Apple CHUD Tools 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Has anyone ever had any success using the CHUD updater? I've got it on three macs, two different networks, and it's never once downloaded an update. I always get the "Unable to connect to the CHUD Update server" message. [alert admin]

Can't make a secure connection to...
When I try to mount other Macs via the "Connect to server", I get the following message: "Can't make a secure connection to YourServer. The server YourServer does not support secure connections via SSH. To connect with reduced security, click Continue." I have SSH enabled, can login remotely via SSH. Was it always the case that mounting via afp was insecure and now Apple is just letting me know? [alert admin]

CodeTek VirtualDesktop Pro 3.0B1 (Mac OS X)
I've been using CodeTek VD since 1.something, and I'm a big fan, but $25 for an upgrade? The $25 upgrade figure came from the beta test registration code email. The original version only cost $20, now the upgrade is more than the original. Since the original seems to work okay, and Pro is mostly bug fixes, I'm not inclined to buy it again. When the beta registration code expires, I'll revert to the old one. $5 or $10, maybe, but I'm not repurchasing it. [alert admin]

At least you got a reply, I sent them a message and got nothing. I paid $29.95 for NNW, then I paid for a few years of FeedDemon, now I get to pay again. I hope they make lots of money off the ad-supported version...

I have used this software for a long time, and loved it, based my whole workflow around it. Since I upgraded my desktop, it's stopped working, and the developer, once very responsive to the most minor issue, doesn't answer any emails anymore. I suppose Spaces has taken the wind out of his sails. Luckily I didn't upgrade my laptop yet, so it still works there - I've considered retro'ing my desktop to a version…

Spotlight doesn't index the mail at all on one of my machines, indexes the subject but not the content on another, and indexes everything as it should on yet another. Identical setups (so far as I can tell). This app didn't fix this problem on the two machines that Spotlight doesn't work properly on.

Yeah, except I already paid $77 for PA Pro v1, and now it's another $35 to upgrade to this, and that's still less than full price. I can play a lot of $1/2 poker at Commerce for that amount.
