Download link on web page doesn't work
When I click on the "Download" link on the website, I'm taken to a PayPal payment screen. I'm a long time registered user of Acquisition and just want the update, unless getting the update now requires paying for it. [alert admin]

Parallels Workstation 2.1b3 (Mac OS X)
This has so far been an amazing product. The speed isn't so amazing--it's as fast a real PC, but I would expect that on a MacIntel. What's amazing is that Parallels was able to bring this product to market so quickly and in such fine shape. It's so far been stable and very usable. When I heard Microsoft announce that it would take some time for them to bring Virtual PC to the MacIntel and Guest PC seemed nowhere in sight and the only offering was a poor one from WinTel, I worried I had bought my MBP too early. This product has changed my mind. [alert admin]

Debt Minder 1.9.5 (Mac OS X)
I've been using Debt Minder for quite a while now and have been very pleased with it. Like the previous reviewer, it has helped me to focus my debt payments and make faster progress on my debt reduction. It works fine under Tiger (10.4), however. So, I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was having problems with it. I'm running 10.4.2 and it works just fine. [alert admin]

DashSaver 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I must be doing something wrong. I have the upper-right hand corner of my screen set to activate the screensaver. When I move the mouse up there, DashSaver starts, then the screen just goes black. I only see it for a second. What am I doing wrong here? Or am I expecting something it doesn't do? I'm thinking it should continue to display the Dashboard as long as the screensaver is active. LipSync 2.5.2 (Mac OS X)
Do yourself a favor and don't by this product. Better yet, don't even try it. It doesn't work with Tiger. He touts a Tiger-compatible version on his website, but it doesn't actually exist. The only supposedly Tiger-compatible product is Excursion, but it's a demo version that has already expired and you can't get a registered version. There is zero, nothing, zip, nonexistent support from the developer. He makes himself like some big shot with sales, info and support email addresses, but when you call him, you get his voicemail at his other job, which he never seems to be at. He will never answer your emails, never return your phone calls, but gladly take your $45 to purchase the product. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! [alert admin]

I would purchase this product over Virtue and Desktop Manager (two free desktop managers) except for these issues: - $29.95 is an awefully high price. - They say, "Assign hot keys to switch between desktops". They should say that you can assign A hot key unlike Desktop Manager and Virtue, where I could go in any direction with keystrokes. - I have to use/display their menu in the status bar. I use a laptop where space is limited. The less I have to have in the status bar, the better. With the other two desktop managers, I can configure them to get to everything via hot keys. very nice idea and a good first release. A few significant issues, however: (1) I can't get the driving directions to work (I tried setting up a second location that I could change to, cleaning up the addresses to be as basic as they could be--nothing); (2) the map that is displayed is distorted--keep the aspect ratio from MapQuest the same when it is displayed in Sherlock; (3) the GUI needs work--it should be easier to enter an address by having the TAB key move from one field to the next and the Zoom slider should not be cut off when slid all the way to the right. FireCracker Screen Saver 1.1 (Mac OS X)
giving developers negative reviews because I know most of them work hard to write good code. But this doesn't work. I'm running a G3 Pismo with 10.2.3 and all I get is a black screen. [alert admin]

In your example, Little Snitch would do just fine. If spyware did copy your personal information and then try to transmit it out, Little Snitch would stop that.

OS X apps will do that sometimes, not just Safari. It doesn't mean it's a bad product. It most likely means your preferences file(s) are corrupt. Shutdwn Safari. Go to Library > Preferences and move com.apple.Safari.plist to your desktop (in case that 's not the problem, you can then put it back). Then restart Safari. The preferences will be reset to defaults when it comes back up, but that could very well do the trick.

I have a 2 GHz/2 GB MacBook Pro and I have had no problems using AHP either. It works great, just as described.

I have used this product for quite awhile now. I've loved it. But now, with Spotlight, why continue to use Quicksilver? I'm not being sarcastic here, but seriously asking why. I would appreciate hearing responses.
