gSync 1.1.1b (Mac OS X)

Buyer beware, use at the risk of your calendar data.

I tried this product as well as one of it's competitors. I'm very sad to say that both work very poorly in far too many situations for me to trust either one. I followed the gSync troubleshooting list for several months to see if some of the issues I was facing would get worked out, and I've finally given up hope for the time being. I absolutely live by my calendar, and simply cannot afford to have the data be constantly at risk, and have the nagging doubts as to what's been deleted, duplicated, or had it's time accidentally shifted by the syncing process. Whether the issues are because of Google's code changes or gSync bugs is immaterial to me. This product (as well as it's major competitor, Spanning Sync) makes my calendar unreliable, and that is simply a situation I cannot accept. I love the idea, and I want to see it succeed, but for the moment, I would have to warn anyone off of using this without LOTS of FREQUENT backups and CONSTANT vigilance over one's calendar data. I would rather just subscribe to my Google calendars in iCal for a read-only view than use one of these poorly implemented syncing products and suffer the data loss/alteration nightmares that follow around many users. If this product becomes stable and reliable, I'll be the first in line to buy it. Until then, I don't need the extra stress of missing appointments. [alert admin]

ScreenSteps 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Wonderful tool for making tutorials / lessons!!

I work in the technical support field, for a mac-based company (yay!)... I used to use Word to make tutorials, but only did so when truly necessary because of how long it took. Using the auto-snap feature and ctrl-cmd-shft-4 key-combo for taking screenshots direct to clipboard, which throws it directly into your next step, the process is now so fast & streamlined (not to mention beautifully formatted) that I am putting out tutorials about 4x as often, and each takes at most half the time it used to take me in Word. The only thing I hope for in the future is a slightly more capable image editor... like having the ability to add numbers or text boxes over the pictures, and perhaps some arrows instead of just boxes & circles. Keep up the great work!! [alert admin]
