Eudora 8.0.0b6 (Mac OS X)
I also used Eudora from the year dot on my first mac, up until the end of last year. I too used to think that it was mission critical and I couldn't do without it. Over the Christmas break, I took the plunge and converted at least 15 years of accumulated Eudora over to Apple Mail, using the outstanding EudoraMailboxCleaner utility, which preserves all the flags. This also has a key advantage that it preserves all your original Eudora files, so you can always go back if you really want. I also purchased MailActOn which enhances the Rules available in Mail, and now I can do absolutely everything I used to do in Eudora, and believe me I was a power user, in Mail and now with the benefit of all the ease of use and additional integration with Mac OS X. It was one of the best decisions I ever made and now I do not miss Eudora at all. [alert admin]

Skype 2.8.0.324 (Mac OS X)
Has anyone managed to get the Skype Access Feature to work? I have tried to access Boingo in several locations around the US and Europe, and in every case I get a "Can't access" error. [alert admin]

Spark 3.0b9 (Mac OS X)
Spark just keeps getting better. Appears to work perfectly in Leopard 10.5.6, I use it constantly. Fantastic. Keep up the good work! [alert admin]

SMS 3.4 (Mac OS X)
The big drawback now is that no matter how you configure it, international recipients do not receive your mobile number as sender ID, instead receiving an irrelevant number as noted by the reviewer below. Version 3.3 worked perfectly in this respect, and so allowed recipients to reply directly. The reliability of Callwave has not been as good as with the systems used in version 3.3. The free sending is nice in the Callwave version, but reliability and ease of use are more important for me. I have requested Keaka Jackson that he reactivate the pay-by-send system of version 3.3 as an option, but no response so far. [alert admin]

After waiting over 20 minutes for a scan that never finished, I've given up and gone back to version 4.1. What a crazy situation that VersionTracker themselves are producing software and not adequately testing it. OS 10.4.8 on dual 1 Ghz Power PC G4 mirrored doors. [alert admin]

SMS 3.3 (Mac OS X)
This free widget interfaces with Address Book to extract out mobile phone numbers, and allows free SMS in US/Canada, and worldwide at approx 10 cents/message. I also like the way it can use your mobile phone number as the sender ID, so the receiver can respond back direct to your phone. Had a minor hiccup, and the developer responded immediately. First class job. Highly recommended. [alert admin]

This update did not fix my #1 bug, which is that Powerpoint prints Equation Editor objects as black boxes when grayscale is selected. [alert admin]

Synchronize! Pro X 4.0.2 (Mac OS X)
This application deserves more than a 3.7. Its rightfully around 4.5. I use this 4 times everyday, to synchronize a computer at home, one at work, and my laptop which "carries" the sync between. I sync around 150,000 files/folders at each time, and it takes me about 2-3 minutes. I use many of the advanced features. It has NEVER let me down and any issues I have had have been promptly addressed by the developer after contacting him. I repeat this again - this is NOT primarily a backing up application (although it can be used as such), it is intended for synchronization. Use it in this mode, and there is currently nothing else out there that does as good a job. [alert admin]

No, so far as I am aware iSub will NOT work at all on Intel. This fix will only work for PPC.

I found a fix. Look for the file System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBAudio.kext which is version 2.6.4 under 10.5.7 PPC, and replace it with the same file from a 10.5.6 PPC install which is version 2.5.8. Before replacing, you MUST note the permissions settings of the 10.5.7 file, and use Super Get Info to set the permissions of the replacement 10.5.6 file after installing. Then restart, and iSub works again. Of course, reverting back to this previous version of…

I can confirm. iSub worked perfectly under 10.5.6 PPC, now it doesn't under 10.5.7 PPC and the iSub control no longer appears in the Sound pref pane. C'mon Apple, did you just leave out the driver from 10.5.7? There are still loads of us iSub users out here, don't leave us with a piece of dead gear.
