OnyX 2.1b5 (Mac OS X)

Just one operation request for 2.1 final

And that request is to delete the dialog "Do you really want to quit?" when quitting .. or at least make that dialog a separate preference. Thanks in advance. [alert admin]

Default Folder X 4.3 (Mac OS X)

The "DFX" Applescript Application for 10.6

Is this still current, because I no longer see the "Default Folder Extras" folder installed in the Utilities folder. Just for yucks, I did double click on it and it seems to work UNTIL I select, for example, "Get Info" and then it freezes. I really don't use it, so this is just a curiosity thing. Thanks for listening. [alert admin]

URL Manager Pro 3.5b10 (Mac OS X)

I really need some help here

URLM with Safari 3.2.1 .. all of a sudden 1) I use URLM to save bookmarks to Safari .. a "URL Manager Pro" item then appears under "Bookmarks" in the sidebar after I select "Show All Bookmarks" (Cmd-Option B). Everything is okay so far. 2) But, then I drag that "URL Manager Pro" item up to the Bookmarks Bar and "URL Manager Pro" is added ... but with a square icon following the text, rather than a hierarchial downward-pointing triangle as it should. 3) This strange happening is more than just cosmetic because if I just single-click it all the hundreds of my bookmarks open in separate tabs .. rather than a drop down hierarchial menu showing as it should. I have trashed "Safari.plist" file in my Preferences folder I have logged in as another user and everything works just dandy and have rebooted onto my external drive and everything works fine also. That is why I thought there was a problem with "Safari.plist" file .. but that approach did not work. As I said, I really need some help here. [alert admin]

TechTool Pro 4 4.6.2 (Mac OS X)

But, how much just for Version 5, without 4.6.2

I am already registered for 4.6.2, so how do I upgrade to just Version 5, without buying 4.6.2 again? [alert admin]

OnyX 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Cleaning > Misc > Delete Recent Items

Reference Cleaning > Misc > Delete Recent Items does not work Leopard, 10.5.6 on an iMac Intel Your Delete Recent Items (Apple Menu) does not work .. come to think of it, I don't think it worked under previous Leopard versions. Items still there and Apple's Recent Items > Clear Menu does work, but Onyx's does not. [alert admin]

PageSpinner 5.0 (Mac OS X)

global search and replace

The script under pagespinner's script menu, "Find and Replace in Folder ..." does not go into sub-folders of these root folders or sub-folders of these sub-folders. I really need this capability since my entire website has 100s of sub-folders. HAALP! John Love [alert admin]

TechTool Pro 4.6.2 (Mac OS X)

General fragmentation question

I have a brand-new iMac G5 with a 500 gig internal hd. TechTool Pro 4.6.2 reported a severe fragmentation issue after a week of installing some of my old software. So, I cloned the hd .. erased the hd .. and restored (using SuperDuper). TechTool still reported: fragmented files = 54 file fragments = 165 disk fragments = 642 immediately after the restore -- total used space = 60 gig out of the over 460 gig available on the 500 gig hard drive. Will someone please explain what might be happening here? -- other than TechTool Pro 4.6.2 may be reporting invalid data. John Love [alert admin]

DiskWarrior 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Okay, version 4.1 arrives, Leopard compatible, but $$$

Well 4.1 was just released that is Leopard compatible, but the Alsoft web site lists nothing about a free updater for registered users of 4.0 ... so I called and was personally told that this free updater will be on their web site sometime during March 2008 .. time will tell, I guess. I really need some help here

I found the answer to my own problem. I deleted ~Library/Safari which deletes all my Bookmarks from Safari (not from URLM). Restarted Safari and all the default Apple, Yahoo, etc. bookmarks appeared in the Safari Toolbar. I deleted all these. Then, selected "Show all Bookmarks" under the Bookmarks Menu. Next, selected "Imported IE Favorites" under which showed my "URL Manager Pro" folder (this was the result of URLM's "Save to Browser..." command). Finally, dragged…

Cleaning > Misc > Delete Recent Items

The software author emailed me that I should turn on "Enable Access for Assistive Devices of the Universal Access Preference Pane. I replied that it already was because I had some AppleScript apps that depends on "Enable access ..." So, again, Onyx does not work but Apple's Clear Menu does. John Love

Just got an email from Optima

Welcome news .. Jerry Aman, author of this awesome software, emailed Kagi to email me with the message: "Kagi, can you please forward this email to customer John Love .. there is a spam filter blocking my emails to John Love" Well, it worked when Kagi sent me the new registration nbr for PageSpinner 5. If there's anyone out there to help me refine my customized SPAM settings on my ISP, I would be very grateful. I…

Follow up to "Old Info with a New Twist"

My SuperDuper Clone is "Shared Users and Apps". Therefore, SuperDuper installs an alias (external Clone) to the iClock Folder (internal original). iClock gets confused with the alias.

Registration Key !!?

Same problem with iClock. Had similar problem with their iKey - developer replied: "... we are changing over the way that ikey is registered. (1) put your email in the name field (2) nothing in the company field and (3) your serial number in the serial num field. thanks julian " However, that did not help this time.

Excellent - really!

I use OSX 10.4.1 with FaxSTF Pro 10.6 and very honestly its User Interface for fax software is without equal. Another very good fax application that I am aware of, Page Sender, falls a little short of FaxSTF in regard to the User Interface. (1) Page Sender demands I select an addressee immediately, which I may not want to right away. FaxSTF allows me to save the fax in its Draft Folder automatically when…

Make a bootable CD

I finally figured out that the original author of this comment series really meant use "Disk Copy" which I did and it worked just as advertised. I also got the "not properly installed" error message, but the fault was mine because initially I simply dragged the hard drive updated TTP to the disk image from Disk Copy. What did work are the exact instructions ... let the 4.0.2 updater do the updating for you. After burning within "Disk…
