DiskWarrior 4.0 (Mac OS X)
Okay, version 4.1 arrives, Leopard compatible, but $$$
Well 4.1 was just released that is Leopard compatible, but the Alsoft web site lists nothing about a free updater for registered users of 4.0 ... so I called and was personally told that this free updater will be on their web site sometime during March 2008 .. time will tell, I guess. [alert admin]

FAXstf Pro 10.8.0 (Mac OS X)
Talked with a gentleman in Tech Support .. he said that without a doubt, Leopard version 10.9 will be released before the end of Dec, 2007. Hope and pray that is their Christmas present to us. He concluded by saying it will be a to-be-paid update. [alert admin]

TurboTax Desktop 2006 2006.00.11 (Mac OS X)
TurboTax 2007 is out and it continues to work .. have used TurboTax (formerly MacInTax) for over 7 years to the best of my recall. I have a iMac G4 running Leopard 10.5.1 .. TurboTax has sheet views and quite honestly is superbly done. I do have difficulty printing out the supporting sheets by themselves and I do hope they correct this. [alert admin]

FAXstf Pro 10.8.0 (Mac OS X)
I hope I am wrong, I really do .. but my gut instinct is that this is unlikely to be upgraded to Leopard .. and it needs to be because the Fax Printer Driver does not show up in Leopard. The application launches okay, but because of the Driver not being recognized with Leopard, there is no effect. I actually called and talked with a gentleman who stated that it will be upgraded .. but because of his inability to provide a no-later-than date, I stated what I did above. I have always depended on the very reliable FaxSTF Pro and earlier versions as well .. and I am still searching for a comparable substitute and quite honestly I cannot. I will use Apple's Print and Fax driver in the meantime, but FaxSTF Pro has spoiled me beyond belief. [alert admin]

Apple iWork '08 (Mac OS X)
iWork 08 installer disk for iMac G4 PPC
The Apple authored specs for iWork 08 working on G4 PPC's are clear and my iMac G4 more than adequately fills these specs. However, the iWork 08 installer chokes and will not completely install. Called Apple Tech Support and I went through the usual myriad of stuff, with no success. Then I remembered what their Tech said, that is, something to the effect that there was an apparent problem with their 08 installer in that it choked when it found earlier versions of Pages, or KeyNote, on the startup drive. I have iWork 05. I then rebooted from the external and successfully installed iWork 08 on my external drive which was absent any earlier versions of Pages or KeyNote ... then MOVEd all iWork-named files from the external to the internal ... rebooted from the internal and everything okay. Just recently removed iWork 05 apps and am now happy. [alert admin]

PageSpinner 5.0 (Mac OS X)
CMD-N for New Default Document
Just noticed a change in the location of "default.html" which is the user's New Empty Page (CMD-N), for example, your specific META tags, the type of doc (e.g., strict XHTML), your STYLEs, your TITLE, etc. For PageSpinner 4.x, "default.html" was placed in the PageSpinner Folder containing the application. For PageSpinnere 5.x, "default.html" must be placed in: ~/Library/Application Support/PageSpinner User Data/ where the tilde is your User Folder. [alert admin]

PageSpinner 5.0 (Mac OS X)
The earliest date my documentation says I have used PageSpinner is 2001 and I have regularly upgraded since. I registered version 4.5 on 2003-03-16 and continue to be very, very pleased. Version 5 does not disappoint .. adds "greater" to "great" Just one question to all out there .. for those that qualify for a free upgrade, has anyone received their new registration number? Heaven knows, Jerry Aman must be busier than a bee with the new release; so I'm just curious about you users in this regard. [alert admin]

Savvy Clipboard 2.1 (Mac OS X)
Thanks for a great piece of software!!! My only question at this time is how do I set a preference that the clipboard list window not show upon startup of the Mac. The shortcut of Control-0 or Control-minus is all I need to access Savvy Clipboard, but I do not want to be slowed down with startup by having to press these shortcut keys. Thanks again, John Love Touch the Future! Teach! [alert admin]

Welcome news .. Jerry Aman, author of this awesome software, emailed Kagi to email me with the message: "Kagi, can you please forward this email to customer John Love .. there is a spam filter blocking my emails to John Love" Well, it worked when Kagi sent me the new registration nbr for PageSpinner 5. If there's anyone out there to help me refine my customized SPAM settings on my ISP, I would be very grateful. I…

Follow up to "Old Info with a New Twist"
My SuperDuper Clone is "Shared Users and Apps". Therefore, SuperDuper installs an alias (external Clone) to the iClock Folder (internal original). iClock gets confused with the alias.

Same problem with iClock. Had similar problem with their iKey - developer replied: "... we are changing over the way that ikey is registered. (1) put your email in the name field (2) nothing in the company field and (3) your serial number in the serial num field. thanks julian " However, that did not help this time.

I use OSX 10.4.1 with FaxSTF Pro 10.6 and very honestly its User Interface for fax software is without equal. Another very good fax application that I am aware of, Page Sender, falls a little short of FaxSTF in regard to the User Interface. (1) Page Sender demands I select an addressee immediately, which I may not want to right away. FaxSTF allows me to save the fax in its Draft Folder automatically when…

I finally figured out that the original author of this comment series really meant use "Disk Copy" which I did and it worked just as advertised. I also got the "not properly installed" error message, but the fault was mine because initially I simply dragged the hard drive updated TTP to the disk image from Disk Copy. What did work are the exact instructions ... let the 4.0.2 updater do the updating for you. After burning within "Disk…

Ditto ... the 4.0.2 updater will not select contents of a .dmg file for updating. Also ... Apple's Disk Utility has no capability to create a .dmg file ... where is the "New Image ..." menu ??? John Love
