Hotspot Shield 0.942-2 (Mac OS X)

Works

For me hotspot shield works fine, especially being free. Steve Gibson has a review of it on the podcast Security Now, episode 212. He doesn't like it because they insert code into your VPN to serve you ads. [alert admin]

PocketMac for BlackBerry 4.1.25 (Mac OS X)

Fixed "no mounted media card found"

I found a fix to that problem. My Blackberry Storm when using Pocketmac on an itel 10.5.x machine would not sync and gave me the error "no mounted media card found". Also the storm would not show up as a USB volume on any of my Mac's desktops. I found the solution here: http://forums.crackberry.com/f79/usb-mass-storage-mode-will-not-enable-250500/ The fix was to hook up my Blackberry to a PC, search the internet for a file named something similar to: BB storage Activation And once I ran the program, it updated my blackberry and my blackberry would show up on my Mac's desktop and sync. PocketMac for BlackBerry 4.1.25 (Mac OS X)

Bad / buggy

I struggled with Pocketmac 4.125 and the 3.13b driver update today trying to get Pocketmac to recognize my blackberry storm. Kept getting 'error 1 skipping' in the pocketmac log. Pocketmac wouldn't see my blackberry. Sometimes syncs would work, then later if I replugged in the Pocketmac, it wouldn't sync. What seemed to work was install pocketmac 4.125 and not restart like your supposed to, but quit and next install the 3.13b driver update. Then restart. For some reason that might be part of my problem, my storm 9350 would not mount on my macbook pro's desktop, even though all the mass storage settings were enabled and I had an 8gb card installed in the BB. Cocoa Packet Analyzer 0.61 (Mac OS X)

Works great

I find this program works wonderfully. I like it better than Wireshark, because you don't need to go into the terminal and type Unix commands to get the program installed/running. The author was quick to respond to a question I had on the appllication. [alert admin]

TeamViewer 4.0.6283 (Mac OS X)

Trying teamviewer out for the first time

Just downloaded teamviewer 4.0.6 and am trying it out for the first time. It is a bit 'crashy'. It unexpectedly quit a few times when I was trying to do a file transfer, and just now quit unexpectedly when I went to quit the program. But it does work pretty well for the most part. But I do love Timbuktu a million times more since it feels more 'Mac like' and not like a PC program ported to the Mac. [alert admin]

FTP Voyager 15.1.0.3 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

free email support

I like the free email support, but sometimes it can be slow (2 or 3 days) to get a response. [alert admin]

Cocoalicious 1.1.0 (Mac OS X)

Like it

I like Cocoalicious. Works good. One thing I wish it had, I see is in Pukka. In Pukka, if you start typing a tag, it auto-completes. In cocaliciouso you have to press f5 - which is an extra step I would like to skip. [alert admin]

VMware Fusion 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)

no problems with 2.0.2

Downloaded 2.0.2 with firefox. Got an error about a security certificate, so I let firefox add an exception, and the download started. I was hoping 2.0.2 would fix the bug where VMware fusion never saves the screen resolution that I sent my windows xp vm to. For example, I set the windows xp resolution to 1024x768, but when I quit fusion, and start it up the next time, the windows xp resolution is like 1024x697 or something like that. [alert admin]

CoolBook 2.12 (Mac OS X)

Works

My Macbook Air 2nd gen was giving me performance problems. kernel_task was taking 100% of the CPU when using Firefox to watch Flash video's. After using CoolBook, and setting the voltage of my mac lower, the temperature of the macbook air is 5-10 degrees cooler and I'm not having problems with kernel_task excessive usage. I wish there was documentation that said what all the settings where and what they might be set to. [alert admin]

could use a bug fix

I wanted to add...adding links to delicious with Pukka alot of the time results in the link not showing up in Pukka. I'm going to start looking for another delicious client.
