Acropolis 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Good look, poor vocabulary

I'm a big Boggle™ fan so I thought I'd enjoy this, but the vocabulary is annoyingly limited. The game is good looking and might be fun for kids. [alert admin]

TinnitusTamerX 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Reported to FDA

I've filed an FDA complaint to determine wether this program constitutes a regulatable medical device, since it claims that "Many Tinnitus sufferers will find that the Tinnitus Tamer completely eliminates the Tinnitus." I'd encourage others who've tried the product and didn't experience any sympomatic relief to do the same. [alert admin]

MarsExplorer 1.0 (Mac OS X)

What's the point?

I guess the demo works... the scale of the rover is totall odd - it would be many hundreds of feet long based on the terrain scale. More to the point, this is basically an uninteresting, low-res terrain flyover. Not worth the download. [alert admin]

iSwipe 1.7.5 (Mac OS X)

Me too...

I too have tried iSwipe over the years and thought I'd give it another go. I'm pretty confident in saying I've never successfully downloaded anything with this tool. And since none of the versions are ever labeled beta, why do they expire? I won't be giving it another try. [alert admin]

NFOViewer 0.1 (Mac OS X)

Post a screencap

Can someone post a screencap of what is so special about how this program renders .nfo files? TextEdit seems to do a fine job for me, and it's moronically simple to associate .nfo, .diz, or any other text file to TextEdit. [alert admin]

NFOViewer 0.1 (Mac OS X)

Why bother

Textedit opens .nfo and .diz just fine. [alert admin]

coconutIdentityCard 0.9 (Mac OS X)

Don't put that it might work

if you haven't tested it. Crashes on 10.3.9. [alert admin]

Symantec NAV virus def May 12 (Mac OS X)

What a ripoff

Why pay for a product that only detects non-existant trojan horses and macros that Microsoft should take care of themselves? [alert admin]

iEmulator 1.7.0 (Mac OS X)

It's QEMU with a OSX GUI

They make some pretty amazing emulation speed claims, since QEMU gives some benchmarks that put things at about a 1/4 to 1/10 of the processor speed. With no try before you buy, it's a $23.95 crapshoot. Try QemuX - it's donationware. QEMU is GPL - I wonder if they're compliant. [alert admin]

Apple Bluetooth firmware 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Not so great for me.

Well, it hosed my DBT-120 rev B3, for which it is suposedly compatible. Downloads, writes 2 blocks, then nothing. Same update worked fine on the powerbook. Anyone have a fix? The older firmware tool doesn't work. It's a little light to make a decent paperweight... [alert admin]

Why not to Bother ...

Try command-i (or right click-"get info"), then "open with" and choose TextEdit and press "change all". Then TextEdit will be the default app for .nfo, or whatever you want.
