Solitaire 3D 3.4 (Mac OS X)

SOLID GOLD GAME

This is one of the best card games out there, in fact the best I have ever seen. It goes full screen and has a massive number of options, putting you in complete control. It's special effects are superb and very charming. As for the over the top attack from the miser's club, if you are looking for value the game can be purchased as a pack with several other excellent games. I really liked learning to play the simple game called "Martha". It was easy to learn and hours of fun. There is excellent support from the maker of the games. This should not be missed as a "try it out" download. Full marks from me. Highly recommend buying the package. The are wonderful graphic displays when you win, brilliant control over very subtle effects of everything through to lighting, colours, card types - you can even design your own. A top ten effort. Internet Cleanup 5.0 (Mac OS X)

CLEAN OUT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT

My advice is, if you have the old version of this keep it. There seems to be evidence that this version is an unfinished Beta they are charging for. When I downloaded the full version of Internet Cleanup 5 for PC I quickly had severe computer problems and several crashes within hours. Vista suggested I go back to before I installed it (thank goodness the option was there with Vista) and then at least my computer worked - but I've noticed problems, like bits of closed programs still on the screen. It seems pretty clear it was Internet Cleanup 5's fault I had severe problems. I asked for a refund. What option did I have? Let me tell you the dirty tricks they got up to. Because I presented a clear case I had no option but to ask for a refund, they stopped emails and sent me to a place on their site that requires a password - but never gave me one. I went in once, then the page would not turn. It is the equivalent of sending you to a brick wall and saying "Go and stand by that, sir, and we will see if you give up". To get Trading Standards to try and stop the stonewalling I must write by letter (not email) twice and be ignored. Then they will help. If IC5 still refuse a refund I must take them to court, where the burden of proof is on ME - but the requirement of proof is lower in this kind of case. If I lose I lose my £30 extra, plus risk costs. That is the good thing about good old Version Tracker. You can at least warn people - THIS MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOU. Another tactic of IC5 is to get you to like their product (which becomes buggy on the required 2nd download) then tell you at the last moment YOU must make a copy of it onto CD (how?) because if it crashes out after only a very short time you have to buy it again. How many firms do that? Consider NOW and have a good think. IS THAT FAIR? IS THAT VALUE? You may think I'm just bitter, but I advice you to leave this product on the shelf. I can prove I have nothing against them otherwise, as you will see, further down this list, when the other product was accused of being SPYWARE I defended them. Version Tracker HQ make it plain complaints in the forum are NOT counted as official complaints, so to remove a product from their lists you have to complain to Version Tracker HQ as well, not just here. Internet Cleanup 5 should be renamed Internet Cleanout Your Bank Account £15. [alert admin]

abylon SHREDDER 7.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

WISH I'D NEVER TRIED IT

No other app of this kind I tried or bought stated I should try it out on unimportant files first - so I unistalled it immediately. My caution was not quick enough!! Now my windows are ruined on my brand new laptop - they move badly now, pulling an empty square about before moving. Seriously warn you off using this. [alert admin]

Logos Bible Widget 2.3 (Mac OS X)

CONSTANTLY CONTACTS LOGOS

If you have an internal computer security I strongly advise you not to install this. The application Internet Cleanup has a function showing everyone your computer is trying to contact and whether it has permission from you. Logos contacts HQ over and over again all day whether permission is given or not. It was a real nuisance. Further Logos is VERY difficult to uninstall. It sounded like rocket science. Fortunately I could download Mac Pilot for a while, which had an easy access "return your dashboard to original settings" type of function which helped a lot. The quiestion remains why Logos is so busy contacting HQ. None of my other apps does that so frequently. Concerning the KJV - it is in fact the best Bible. It is written off the Byzantine Text, that William Tyndale was half strangled and then burnt, for translating and defending. Remember that. There are 1,000's of differences between it and the phony modern versions, which are written off heretical manuscripts put away by scholars because of corruption. When put together the verses and words missing from the Alexandrian Text come to about the length of Galatians! Including the Gospel of Mark suddenly stopping "in mid-air" and the ommission of the story in John 8. Do you believe that story was just made up by someone? Or that it was Jesus? Satan hates that chapter because it shows the new covenant commandment of Christ is that we have all sinned, so ALL the Old Testament death penalties are done away with, and that also means no killing in wars. Shades 1.2b1 (Mac OS X)

BRILLIANT!!

I was so affected by the brightness of my 20" iMac screen I bought a filter that cost me over £100! If only I had this application sooner. It is just great. Thanks a million! Now I can take off the filter and my computer looks great again. Shades puts the adjuster scale right through the internet site, so I can always adjust it easily. At £0 it is presently a lot cheaper than the filter I bought. Totally recommend this - especially if you suffer from headaches and eye strain. [alert admin]

IPNetTunerX 1.6.5 (Mac OS X)

ALTERNATIVE?

Tiger Cache Cleaner tunes for Broadband, Narrowband, Dialup, and restores defaults. It also repairs permissions, runs maintenance scripts, rebuilds prebindings etc, force empties trash, deletes files and folders, gives systems info, and deep cleans caches. I do not know if it does as good a job as this app on tuning for broadband, just thought you might find this info interesting. Tuning and optimizing are two different claims. Maybe try both? Gutterball 1.2H (Mac OS X)

IN MY TOP 10

I have just found out there is a more 3D Gutterball that some like better, called Gutterball 2. I like the first one best I think. One tip in this version is that the ball rolls faster and with more power if the mouse is clicked on top of the ball, and lower down it goes slower but is more able to be steered. No wonder this game has won awards. It is great. It's in my top 10. [alert admin]

Prey 1.0 (Mac OS X)

UTTERLY GROSS.

Particularly filthy language. Very graphic violence committed by the so called "hero" that gives a very dangerously bad example. Totally gross graphics give the impression of splattering huge aphids inside the intestinal tract of a giant squid with bowel problems. The pits. And some people want this to be the "way ahead" for games. The technology behind it is being horribly misused. This kind of thing is eroding the standards of decency. It is poisonous. [alert admin]

Gutterball 1.2H (Mac OS X)

LIKE A FUN NIGHT OUT

This game is so good and the characters in it are such fun. The pace makes this much better than its rival games. The others slow up too much. I only wish there were more character voices, as long as the comments are just a laugh. The pace is such that you can let your friend see out your whole game, and then see if he can match it - as an alternative way to play. I recommend to download this and see for yourself. The graphics are not state of the art, but I bought it immediately it was so much fun. [alert admin]

Not worth the price

I have had a similar experience with another game. Try this. Download the wonderful application "Clean App" (one of my best ever buys - it is mega useful). This will allow you to completely rip out ALL the files you have downloaded of Mystic Inn. Then download the game again from Version Tracker and put in your serial number. It could well work. Best of luck.

Spyware...!!!

If you are going to make such a big accusation against the Ineternet Cleanup app, be specific, so we can all learn. Do you mean you downloaded it an tried to "zap" it, but something was left behind? If so, try CLEANAPP. Cleanapp is one of the best apps I ever bought. When I clicked on "applications" and looked down the list, lots of apps I…

Grrr worse than Apple!

If you mean you want to uninstall it, and find it tough, try CleanApp. You can locate an app by name and get completely rid of all trace, no matter where it is installed. Watch it though - it's a powerful and specific app, only delete what you know you want to.

Grr!

Surely you just click on the breeding discus pair and leave it on. I have seen the babies mature from tiny in under half an hour. I'm not sure they breed in the big set up.

Developer won't respond to my request for Help

Hi I'm only a beginner with computers, so remember this. I find the best remover of downloaded apps is the app - Internet Cleanup, which has a very successful (for me on iMac Tiger) "shredder" included. I also use Appzapper and AppDelete. Some people recommend CleanApp (saying you can name files to destroy, rather than dropping them in the shredder), but that is…

Oustanding fun

I bought it but I can't understand how to turn on the weather and the tunnels and roads. It was the shot of the car, lights on, heading for a tunnel, that interested me. I'd like to add snowing, at night, lights on, heading for tunnel. Would you write an email and tell me how to do it, what mode etc? I want to say…

Safeeyes alternative???

I think I should add I now cannot empty the TRASH on my computer because several items in there are locked, including Safe Eyes. This is probably really bad. I wish I knew an app that would systematically run through my trash unlocking files so I can empty it. This may not be because of AppZapper. I may have done it before? Perhaps if I had had APPZAPPER…

Safeeyes alternative???

I cannot give an alternative now, but had the same problem uninstalling Safe Eyes, as it was "locked" on my screen. Have just removed it immediately with Appzapper, which I will now purchase as it did the job, as far as I can see, …
