Hear 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been waiting for soooo long for OSS 3D to get out of beta. And here it is, Hear. The presets are extensive, the interface has a *gorgeous* new look and the sound is phenomenal. The program runs system wide, so all your apps can benefit from it. There is a panel though where you can choose if an application should use Hear or not. I've been using SRS iWow in the mean time, but that only runs in iTunes. The upgrade path from iWoW or OSS 3D is also very good. My ears have sorely missed this, thank you! [alert admin]

iGet Mobile 1.0 (Mac OS X)
You could also try iPhone Remote. This also runs a secure server on your Mac, and you can access your Mac via your iPhone, using Safari, or from anywhere there is internet access. Although it states that you need 10.4, it also works on 10.5. http://code.google.com/p/telekinesis/ Features: Stream music and videos from your computer Screen capture with mouse click and basic typing support Simple iTunes Remote control Browse your files Run applescript remotely iSight image capture Basic Spotlight search Easily create and add more apps [alert admin]

Serene Saver 1.31 (Mac OS X)
Serene Saver HD v2 is available for download. It has a new interface, extra features, and GORGEOUS new scenes. Older scenes have also been updated. This was money well spent & the tranquility it brings to your desktop is worth every cent. [alert admin]

SteerMouse 3.5 (Mac OS X)
I use the Logitech v400 mouse. Steermouse allows me to program ALL of the buttons. Logitech's new version of LCC v2.11 still misses out on two of the seven buttons. And programming Expose actions, using LCC, is cumbersome. Steermouse just works, and works well! [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)
I use the v400 mouse. Neither this version, nor v1.62 gives me the option to change two of the seven buttons on the mouse. It also seems far to difficult to program an expose action for a button. I uninstalled this, an re-installed STEERMOUSE ( http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/27620 ). It allows to me configure ALL of the buttons, and getting expose actions to work is a breeze. [alert admin]

Is it worth spending thirty bucks when you have Spaces in 10.5? ![]()

I actually find that the combination of the two compliment one another very well.

Strange desktop problem you have. All the scenes play fine on my desktop - either on my main monitor, or on my second monitor. Have a look in Console to see if anything crashes while activating Serenity on your desktop.

Thanks for that, but I did all of that. They've started a forum on the developers site, and I posted my problem there. Dmetri quickly answered me with this: "I believe that latest OSS 3D 2.x isn't compatible with intel machines yet." http://subband.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=32&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=93&fpart=1#Post34 So I guess I'll have to wait for compatibility.

Thanks for that, but after some digging I think I found the problem: The new OOS 3D installs a deamon thats suppose to load at startup - look in library/startupitems/oss3ddeamon. This doesn't load. So if I tell the deamon to open with terminal, keep terminal open, launch iTunes, launch OSS3D, I get it to work again....until the next startup. This is all to much 'fiddling' for me - they should just get this to work…

it seems to be very temperamental. After shutting down, and starting back up, OSS 3D seems 'dead' again. There is no change in the sound when you switch it on or ofF. I tried enabling the equalizer and disabling it again in iTunes, but no luck. *sigh*
