USGerman Keyboard Layout 0.9.8 (Mac OS X)

Previous 2 reviews didn't quite understand this utility  

The previous 2 reviewers (wildwolf1 and fusion) missed the point of this utility. Neither the standard US keyboard layout nor the USInternational one let you type German special characters (äöüÄÖÜß) by just pressing Option+letter, only USGerman does. That's its whole point; it makes typing German text on US keyboard layouts much faster. I've used it myself since 2004 and couldn't live without it. [alert admin]

US International is quite different  

(From the developer). Sorry, but I just downloaded and installed USInternational (which I had seen before) to confirm this, and it's quite different. USInternational lets you use Windows key sequences to type international characters. This is great for people who come from the Windows world. Thanks for you feedback, but you may have missed the point. This layout lets you type the German umlauts by just pressing a single key combination (Option-a for ä, etc.) The standard US layout requires you to press two: first Option-u (deadkey for the dots), then the a key. It also doesn't support the ß translation for uppercase. Hope that clears it up.
