SpeedTouch USB/330 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Does not work with Panther (10.3)!

The current driver could let my Speedtouch USB modem work with Jaguar (10.2), but when upgrading to Panther, the modem is not recognized. Nowhere on the web you can find information (only grudging users, complaining their home connection to the web is down, just like mine).

So if you will be using Panther, dump your Speedtouch USB modem. (If you keep on using Jaguar, dump it too, because it makes your system vulnerable to crashes, system freezes during sleep,...)

IP 3.71 (Mac OS X)

I'm not going…

into this unix/gui-discussion. Point is, I downloaded the app, and it is buggy and slow. It takes minutes to launch, and then selecting IP in the menu bar, it gives the rainbow cursor for another couple of minutes. Now the menu is open. Still, while I'm typing this. It won't go away. How on earth dit it get to version 3.71? Version 2 must have been a gui tool to a kernel panic or something. [alert admin]

Haxial NetFone 1.2.21 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Perfect and superfast…

Antwerp-New York connection. Still somewhat buggy and indeed rather ugly, but hey, I still love it. [alert admin]

Our university recently…

switched from Mathematica to Maple, and I can't say I'm sorry. Though Mathematica gets most of the things done, I prefer the more intuitive way Maple works. I'm anxiously waiting for the Mac OS X version, but I've found no problems running Maple 7 in Classic. The only thing I regret is the confusion surrounding linear algebra (one of two rather incompatible packages are needed: "linalg" and "LinearAlgebra") -- this is a pity. Overall: recommendable. FileMaker to iPod 1.0 (Mac OS X)

It takes its…

time to compose the vcf file, but it's worth it. All my contacts are stored in FileMaker files, so this little piece of software was what I was waiting for. (Unrelated to this app: longer e-mail addresses get trunctuated on the iPod, and thus are useless. Is this normal?) [alert admin]

On my PowerBook…

and the four iMacs here in the computerlab Technichron crashed (and kept on crashing) on the very same day. So I figure something must be wrong. No doubt an update will surface soon. [alert admin]

Eudora 5.1b21 (Mac OS X)

Eudora is all…

that I need, and more. Nice to see the LDAP support, as well as the new icon. I switched back from Mail.app when the b20 was released, and I haven't had any regrets since (not that I don't like Mail.app, I just think Eudora suits my needs more). [alert admin]

Technichron 0.2 (Mac OS X)

Just wonderful. The…

screensaver I was looking for, without knowing it. (And yeah, a few options would be nice, like 24h based times,...). I'm truly impressed. [alert admin]
