TubeTV 0.9.2 (Mac OS X)

Worth a donation

I don't understand the previous reviewer's statement about limiting you to 3 videos, because I have been using it for many months now without donating - so today I donated because it is bloody brilliant. One click grabs the URL from firefox, then one click downloads and converts it - so incredibly simple and stable. [alert admin]

FoldersSynchronizer Lite 3.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Great for my simple needs

I use this to backup Documents, Music, and Pictures to my external disk. Darn easy. Don't know about automating it yet, but I have no problem launching the program once a week and clicking a few buttons. [alert admin]

FlickrExport for iPhoto 2.0.10 (Mac OS X)

Guess I'm the only happy customer?

I just to had to comment that I have been extremely happy with the plugin and think it is worth the money - I upload photos very often to flickr and it handles the workload beautifully. I also like how Growl tells me when it is done. [alert admin]

OmniOutliner Pro 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Use everyday in Nursing program

I'm sure that I am missing out on the more advanced feature, but I do use it everyday for organizing my notes from reading the texts, and to actually take notes during lecture. The teacher talks so fast during lecture that I would never be able to write that fast, nor does she supply her powerpoints online. With this tool I can enter the information from the slides before she even finishes reading them out loud, and then can add notes to any part at any time. I then export them to RTF for my classmates. I would love to make a fancy web page from the lectures by including video clips from the skills labs or audio from the lecture; maybe one day. [alert admin]

Mellel 1.8 (Mac OS X)

An update on the lagging

The problem that I mentioned with the lagging typing only happens with my 97 page document, not with my 4 page Statistics homework nor my 2 page English journal. Since my last review, I have created unique page styles for both my English and Statistics classes, worked with tables, inserted charts from AppleWorks, and learned more about the auto-numbering feature. This software is most excellent. Looking forward to seeing how this will work out for my 10 page research paper for English class. cheers [alert admin]

Mellel 1.8 (Mac OS X)

Very darn nice

Without reading the manual I have figured out how to create my own auto-numbering style and changed the default charater style; my document is at 97 pages so far. I've never worked with another processor's outlining feature before, but I love this one: so perfect for the document I am creating. Easy enough for the beginner - amazingly feature-rich for the expert. Minus one star for the extreme typing lag (about 8 words behind my fingers). [alert admin]

HP Photosmart 5.5 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

1215 didn't work on Panther

Installed 5.5, was able to print test pages no problem with the HP printer utility, but could not print from anything else...it even crashed TextEdit when i tried!! Found my 2.05 installer and it worked perfectly. [alert admin]

Xsee 1.9.7 (Mac OS X)

I use it…

as a first-pass viewer for my pictures - it gives me an easy interface for viewing the pictures one at a time so that i can delete the blurry ones and permanently rotate the sideway ones. Then I use PhotoGridX to organize them into separate folders (this software won't permanently rotate pictures). [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.2.2 (Mac OS X)

I'm sure it's…

a fine update, for those that don't need to print to an HP Photosmart printer. Not sure if Acquisition would have been happy without the HP stuff running, but it surely wasn't happy with it running - would die after a couple hours. Only 1 star because I am a student that needs to print often...I know, I should blame HP, right. Computers are evil, long live the printing press! :) [alert admin]

gimp-print 4.2.3pre3 (Mac OS X)

This works great…

for me on my HP Photosmart 1215. The trick is to save anything I wish to print to PDF then use the "lp" command in the terminal to print that PDF. [alert admin]

1Password does not work with opera

Agreed. 1Password has become essential to me as well. I want to be able to play around with Opera, since I like switching between browsers for fun, but this is a show stopper for me.

ABT: you are my new hero, I read all of your comments, keep up the good work. I have no idea what you are saying most of the time, but I enjoy your rants regardless.

Best of breed but memory hog

For me, Safari 3.1 also reaches 450 Meg of memory. But my eyes believe that Webkit displays fonts and pictures better than Gecko, so I put up with the restarts needed.

dawg-freakin-slow

Dragging a URL from the address bar onto the Favorites Toolbar works fine for me, always has. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't drop it until the popup tooltip thing is gone, so have to hold onto it for about 20 seconds or so.

Best in class

Yeah, it used to be either $25 or $30, I can't remember either. I paid for it back then. 5.6 is definitely the best release in a long time.

Why to pay if 1001 is free

Yeah, the comment is correct in that 1001 can show you pictures from iPhoto and let you upload them to flickr - I downloaded it after the above comment to see how it compares. Using 1001 I can indeed increase the size of the thumbnails to get a better view of which pictures to upload - but I can also change the size in iPhoto before using this exporter, so that comment is misleading. And…

Foxfire Bookmarks?

I use the Foxmarks extension and simply skip the export/import step. Also use 1passwd so no need to re-enter all those pesky passwords either.

Too many complaints!

I wish it would not crash for me, because I love the browser, but it just crashes continuously - whether on the intel Macbook or G4 Mini. I have no haxies or other tricked out setups. I even re-installed the OS on the Mini recently, but still get way too many crashes. I still give it 5 stars even though I can't use it.

Too bad...

Correct, it does not do perfect APA formatting. It does not include the edition of a book, so that has to be modified through some method I don't remember right now. It does not include all 5 author names during the first citation. It does not remove the date for the second citation in the same paragraph. I had to add a field for when I retrieved a document from an online database. Many things missing,…

good, but problems

Good to know that I am not the only one. After more than 6 crashes per day I had to stop using it as my default browser. I will try every new release until it becomes stable though, it's still my favorite.
