InkLevel 1.22 (Mac OS X)

Only one of my two printers could be probed; app crashed

I have two printers: Epson A700 connected to an Airport Extreme base station (USB port) Epson RX595 connected to an Airport Express configured in "extend mode" The A700 could not be probed even though it 'knew of the printer.' The RX595 was accurately probed and reported the correct ink levers When I used the Diagnose operation to the A700 the app terminated without an error message. When I used the Diagnose operation to the RX595, the app reported that it could not communicate with the printer even though it did accurately read the ink levels. So this app is being deleted. Apple MacBook Pro SMC Firmware 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Further to my "lock up" post

This was determined to be a sleep and re=awake problem. Was advised by Apple support to: Remove the ethernet driver from the "Network" preference panel (this is on the left side of the panel - remove using the '-' key) Re-add the ethernet driver (using the "+" key) and make sure that it is active (it may say "not connected" but it is still 'active') Close the preference panels and restart just to make sure that all the software connections are made. Problem went away for me. [alert admin]

Apple MacBook Pro SMC Firmware 1.3 (Mac OS X)

System locks up after installation

It is very consistent: I close the lid, come back in 10 minutes and there is not response from the system except that screen shows the state of the screen when I closed it. No cursor. No response to any key. Can only turn off and turn on. For me, this firmware update is a disaster. Now, if I can only find a way to back it out. Blessings to those that do not have problems. Apple Safari 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Extreme slow on some websites fast on others.

Found that even CNN.com takes forever to load. Just the spinning beach ball. Constantly had to force a quit with Safari marked as 'not responding.' I know other have reported no problems. Perhaps I need to review the plugins (which I do not think I have anything out of the normal). I will try to empty the caches and some of the other databases listed for a Safari Reset. Reverting to rev. 3 until I have more time to figure out what is happening. Sadly, the official download does not have a reinstall -- just the beta I have read. So be sure to create a bootable backup so you can do a restore just in case you have this problem. [alert admin]

InkLevel 1.03 (Mac OS X)

fails to detect Epson via Airport Extreme/crashes frequently

Software would not allow me to select my wireless printer (Epson via Airport Extreme). Tried it 6 times and it crashed instantly on 4 of the 6 attempts. All software/firmware is uptodate. Not worth my time anymore. [alert admin]
