Transmit 3.6.7 (Mac OS X)

Can be useless

Terse error messages make mirroring of a reasonably large site impossible. An example error message: "Could not download xxxxxx.yyy. Couldn't get remote handle." With no path this error message is useless and the mirroring can't be done. Words about a "handle" do not help resolve the problem. It is clear that the developers did not try to provide useful error messages. So now off to find an ftp program that will work and produce meaningful error messages as needed. [alert admin]

SplashID iPhone Desktop 5.0 (Mac OS X)

Rip Off

There is a dialog that there is an upgrade and offers to download and install. BEWARW, after downloading and re-launching it turns out that it is not a free upgrade, they want $9.95--so SplashIF holds you hostage for the upgrade fee. [alert admin]

Fetch 5.5 (Mac OS X)

Upgrade is a step backwards

I have used Fetch for over 10 years. I bought the upgrade and suddenly it did not use the text editor I have been using and did not allow setting my editor of choice. Fetch insisted I use another editor I had installed, I had to remove it to even try to use Fetch 5.5. After many emails with support I down-graded to 5.3. The preference to select a text editor was removed. While there might be new features the inability to select a text editor makes it unusable for me. [alert admin]

GarageSale 4.0 (Mac OS X)

FRAUD

DO NOT UPGRADE! I upgraded from the GarageSale 3.x application from the application. Kagi provided a successful transaction. I did not get an unlock code. I emailed the Kagi info and after a couple of exchanges with GarageSale supportI was told they would do nothing and that I would have to resolve the problem with Kagi. GarageSale support would not attempt to solve the issue with Kagi. So, I paid and the GarageSale company will not fulfill my sale. FRAUD. [alert admin]

iPhoneDrive 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Works Great

This is exactly what I have been wanting for my iPhone. Works great and is simple to use. Now I no longer need to carry a flash drive. Priced right--alright, I would have gladly paid more. :-) [alert admin]

Stupid registration

Requires typing a 39 character registration because it does not allow pasting. Very easy to confuse some letters/numbers. [alert admin]

Multi-Expander

Alllume is about as sleazy as possible essentially demanding opt-in to email spam. While the link provided here works it is not provided on the site. I suspect that they are driving potential users away with their heavy handed tactics. Were they not so sleazy I would actually pay for their software.

3 backups, none worked

Same error here. I was backing up to a firewire drive file. Also scripts that are created do not show up for running. It seems that Dantz isn't interested in fixing the problems. Basically this once Gold Standard is not a POS, so sad.

Error checking badly broken.

Multiple files selections are no longer handled, each file must be handled individually. So if there are multiple files to add to a project each one must be done individually.
