Keyboard Cleaner 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Potentially Useful...

... probably more for laptops and other systems where it is impossible (or at least calisthenically ridiculous) to unplug the keyboard. [alert admin]

SoundandLights I 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Very Myst-Like

I guess the story up to this point is the player is locked in his basement, and after hours and days of starvation, boredom and desperation, he goes insane and amuses himself for the remainder of his days turning the light on and off. Would be nice if there were more of the basement to explore, though. [alert admin]

Global Consciousness 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Eh.

It's a really cool concept, and there's a lot of potential here. But the execution just isn't there yet. From the description, I thought that my screen would be literally flooded with information.

A little box floating around the screen...eh. I was hoping for something similar to that one screensaver that scrolls its own source, except instead of source there would be line after line of completely random information.

That's my 2¢. Neat idea, OK start. Looking forward to version 2! [alert admin]

RealZoom 0.9 (Mac OS X)

App or PS Plugin?

Ok, it's a neat program and all, but doesn't it seem like this would be better suited as a PhotoShop plugin? And stop flaming; those of you that would genuinely find this app useful already own PhotoShop anyway. [alert admin]

Time Ballz 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)

Classy!

Very nice. Very nice. Would be neat if the screenSaver would also display monochrome versions of a User's Pictures folder using ballz, too. That would probably be worth $10 :) Also, just for fun, because there is a set of ballz that uses transparency (so I can use xBack and *not* completely cover up my desktop picture...*very* cool), it would be neat if there were a way to set the position of the clock on the screen. Way better than any K clock Widget, that's for sure.... [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro X 3.0b12 (Mac OS X)

Much Better

I like this one a lot more than the old 2.5. Would be nice if there were a way to customize the toolbar, though. Also, downloading an item such as Adaptec driver updates will download the description web page, which is not desirable (should be an option to not download web pages if no file is available, etc.). AHole II 1.0b4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Fun!

Wow! This is a great game! I'd say as far as betas go, this one's halfway there. The interface is pretty neat; I love the cartoon eyes across the table from me. The game plays pretty true to the rules, and even allows you to set your own variations. It would be nice if there were a shortcut for the Play/Pass button. I end up clicking on the desktop instead of the button about half the time. [alert admin]

I'm holding out for Metallifizer.

Bad enough people complain that Unsanity haxies patch code and cause system instability. At least uninstalling the APE modules will solve the problem. But when you're modifying system files... sounds like asking for trouble, IMHO. [alert admin]

Fink 0.5.3 (Mac OS X)

Can't Install Packages...Still!

I had the hardest time under Jaguar getting Fink to work because curl kept getting 403 errors. Now everything should be working...except I'm getting this weird error message: >Failed: Problem resolving dependencies. Check for circular dependencies. No matter what I do. selfupdate won't work anymore, and I can't install anything...still. [alert admin]

All I get is a screen full of data

That's a problem with your MIME configurations, NOT the developer's fault.

Good program, hard to justify?

I have to disagree with you there. Net Monitor could be considered a professional alternative to Menumeters. Menumeters is free, yes, but it is very limited in that it only provides basic information. This is great for the majority of Users. But if you need more advanced information, Net Monitor is a great utility. And since it is pro-grade, you have to pay for it.

Safe Files

Safari's list of safe files are contained within the actual Safari app itself. You'll have a hard time getting at them.
