pxl SmartScale 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)

PS version check

the requirement isn't listed here. but note that the installer says that the plugin is compatible with photoshop CS and CS2. no mention of 7. [alert admin]

iDefrag 1.11 (Mac OS X)

demo

i would try the demo available at the developer's website. if i had a disk smaller than 100MB. <grin> some of y'all may want to check it out, though. [alert admin]

rocks my inbox

i tried several spam filtering apps before i gave junkmatcher a spin--and purchased my favorite. but i retired that app less than 48 hours after i tried junkmatcher. yay. now, typically, i only have to manually delete one or two junkmails a day. don't know why the previous commenter had troubles. but version 1.5.5 works fine on panther (10.3.9) for me. was mildly disconcerted the first time that little snitch asked me if i wanted to let the application python initiate a connection. but the excellent documentation sorted that out. thanks to the developer for giving us this. TechTool Pro 4.0.4 (Mac OS X)

updater fails

shows a pretty installer window. when the updating process starts, progress bar appears and just as promptly disappears, returns to 'update' prompt. [alert admin]

wouldn't dream of shooting digital black and white without it. [alert admin]

HeavyMail 1.02 (Mac OS X)

pricetag?

looks cool. but despite the see-site-for-pricing-info notice here, i can't find a price listing or schedule anywhere on the developer's site, apart from a statement that the company is now offering a free trial of the app. this marketing approach doesn't work for me. [alert admin]

Postcards 1.0 (Mac OS X)

download links

looks neat. if you check out the developer's site for info, though, note: the download button there links to another of the developer's apps. the versiontracker download link (above) works fine, though. [alert admin]

Mail Archiver X 1.3b1 (Mac OS X)

needs another demo approach

from the developer's website, emphasis mine: When the application is not registered you will occasionally see a nag dialog and *some of the archived data is scrambled*. As a result of this, *it is not possible to use the archives created during the trial period*. tryer beware. [alert admin]

IGS Twisted 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)

cool, truly--

and one of the most genuinely configureable screensavers out there. instantly in my top three, with flurry and helios. [alert admin]

falkeko

you might want to doublecheck--flaming pear filters usually appear in a submenu of your filters menu called 'flaming pear'. also--earlier versions of some flaming pear filters came two versions to a folder--one os 9-compatible filter called <FilterName> and an os x-compatible version called <FilterName X>. make sure you installed the X version.
