just a kid having fun

as a product, this is just an amateur app of a basic webkit browser. it's not bad to learn Cocoa, but first innovate THEN release something. For tips, check out some open source browsers: Shiira and TrailBlazer [alert admin]

OCSmart Hacks 1.0 (Mac OS X)

not well thought out

this developer has the skills and hacks to let us customize just how we want but the OCS interface leaves much to be desired. As far as turning only certain parts on and key combo's, you are basically stuck to one way to use it. Very unrefined; perhaps with more user research and feedback this will be something I can use. The listed features don't even seem to all be implemented. And now it's shareware? Feh. [alert admin]

Mail.appetizer 1.0rc2 (Mac OS X)

buggier than RC1

This is buggier than RC1, which wasn't flawless itself. Release Candidates aren't supposed to have known bugs. This is feature complete with a myriad of bugs, which means BETA. Instead of telling users to disable the buggy setting, a temporary version should be released that disables the feature. Developer must have very poor software quality philosophy. Eventually bugs will be caught. If not, no one will use it and maybe it'll be open-sourced and we can fix it ourselves. [alert admin]

GeekBind 0.2 (Mac OS X)

Alright!

The idea is cool. MaxiMice only works some of the time (Cocoa windows). Can't wait to see how this does! Using WindowMaker at work and OS X at home makes me really crave Cmd-drag at home. [alert admin]

Adium X 0.53 (Mac OS X)

Adium leads the way

Defacto standard for how a chat cilent should be. Chat can often be obtrusive on productive computer use but I still want to be available; Adium lets me customize notifications and information display to minimize interruption.

They just need to polish off Direct Connect and File Transfer and I won't ever need to launch another client [alert admin]

In-Out Board 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Commercial?

This software sounds way too basic to be commercial. I hope this does the emloyees' jobs for them as well! I guess it's okay since it is intended for corporations. [alert admin]

Ocean Waves 0.3 (Mac OS X)

Speechless

it's...just...white noise...panning, left channel to right channel. The panning made my brain hurt. This doesn't sound like any ocean I was ever at. And this could have just been an MP3 file looped. The auto start/stop: I have an MP3 alarm clock for that. WtF? [alert admin]

teleport Preview 1 (Mac OS X)

The next step

One of my ideas that I'd love someone to take up, is to basically have an extension of this where the controlling computer has an additional virtual display sent over TCP to the other computer. The environment of usage is when you have, say, an iMac and a Powerbook, and want to use the iMac as an additional display for your Powerbook. [alert admin]

Once it's 1.0 I'll have to pay for it. Beta forever!
