DeepSix 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Software has been updated to 1.2
We just posted version 1.2 of DeepSix that will remove AdobeFNT.lst files, but NOT the dreaded AdobeFNT.DB files. As a side note, none of the people who have downloaded via versiontracker or MacNN, MacCentral, Macsonly, etc. have complained to us that any verison of Illustrator on their system didn't work after using DeepSix. The software is now patched to not remove this file just in case. We have also added a log feature to the software to let you know what is being removed and when it was removed. Sorry for the mistake in the previous version and we certainly hope it didn't bring any harm to anyone's system. [alert admin]

DeepSix 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Point taken, update on the way
That's all we ask from you--feedback! I would have preferred you send it via eMail so we could have nipped this in the bud, but nevertheless, the software should be updated later today so it won't remove the wrong files. Please use with caution until then. (At worst it sounds as if Illustrator would have to be reinstalled, but again, I have personally never heard or seen this from anyone using the software to date, including my own machines.) Thanks for the investigative work and please contact us directly with problems so we can address them as they appear. Contact us at staff@ifthensoft.com. [alert admin]

OK, we'll play along (from the developer)
Adobe article number 1: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/2c1ba.htm Adobe article number 2: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/2b60a.htm Adobe article number 3: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/1711e.htm There are about 2 more pages of them, but I will stop there. For the Word/Office problem: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020326010620991. Further questions can be directed to staff@ifthensoft.com. The read me file has exactly which files get deleted. [alert admin]

eSanta 1.2 (Mac OS X)
• Fixed the iBook display problem--the program is now smaller sized for the smaller screens. • Fixed the "surprise" spelling error • Took out the default of the front window so hitting "return" won't automatically send the letter. Happy Holidays! [alert admin]

MailTuner 1.0 (Mac OS X)
If you get the error listed here, it's because MailTuner isn't working on Panther yet. We are looking into it. [alert admin]

Hackpose 1.1 (Mac OS X)
As we say CLEARLY in the documentation that everyone is SUPPOSED to read first, use this--and every--piece of software AT YOUR OWN RISK. We obviously cannot try this software on every possible computer out there--if you don't feel comfortable using this software because of a *chance* of problems, there's an easy solution--DON'T USE IT. Just because it appears on VersionTracker, it doesn't mean you HAVE TO USE IT. We will absolutely not "take out" features because of a possible bug that may or may not affect you. That's sort of censorship and we refuse to give into it. If the feature is "hidden," it's fair game to be "unhidden." If Apple felt that this wasn't a workable feature, they could have simply removed it. So, if it's there and it can be uncovered, we are going to allow the common user to at least check it out. Again, if you don't feel good about using it, then simply DO NOT USE THE SOFTWARE TO BEGIN WITH. [alert admin]

Dark Side of Oz 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Yes, we admit it--this is by far the dumbest software that we have ever released, but it's one more thing that we just saw a cool opening for. Yes, it does actually work and it is probably one of the coolest ways to kill 42 minutes of your life. It also illustrates how fast an AppleScript Studio app can be built--less than one day from beginning to end. [alert admin]

Pod 2 Pod 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Easy way to test that "Not a valid iPod" error
Launch Pod 2 Pod and use the "Tools" menu to create 2 test iPods on your desktop. Drag one of the 2 of those into Pod 2 Pod--do you still get the error? Let us know at staff@ifthensoft.com so we can work it out. [alert admin]

ResurrXtion 0.8 (Mac OS X)
I just downloaded and installed---I hope it's fixed because it's a great addition to Mac OS X and this would be the first developer to crack the case--good luck and I'll report back tomorow! [alert admin]

If you took the time to download the app and read the "Read Me" file, you would clearly see that in the very first line, we credit MacOSXHints. Furthermore, if you go to their site and read the 3rd comment about the hint, you will again clearly see us thanking the site for the hint. "Check your facts before you open your mouth, my friend."

Without a DLink external adapter, it seems as though you can ADD the headset, but it never shows up in the sound control panel like it should. This seems to be a direct function of the new firmware update released for ONLY the DLink BT module from Apple today. I can add my Jabra headset, but it doesnt do anything else.

"System Folder" is the OS 9.x folder
DeepSix will not 1.) look at the classic system folder for any reason 2.) will not remove *any* file from *any* location that has "db" in the title. This was supposedly the file that was not to be removed under any circumstances (though you can read other posts (and a good amount of eMail that was sent to us) right here that say nothing bad seems to happen when removing this file).

Please let us know which files were left behind. We would like to know exactly what directory paths they are located in, for example: ~/Library/blah/blah/adobefnt.lst, etc. Send to staff@ifthensoft.com. Thanks!

Try updating your Stuffit Expander to the newest possible version. This seems to fix this same problem with the few people who have had it.

Transparent Dock activates the blob just fine.
So, let me get this straight--the SAME EXACT terminal commands that are issued by TransparentDock & Hackposé are different in what way? That's right. They are the SAME EXACT terminal command that was ORIGINALLY found on Macosxhints.com. So, bottom line as per what you say, is that all software developers should stop developing software IF a feature is found in a completely different application. Sounds a bit monopolistic, if you ask me. What about the…

If you could send your system information to us, we may be able to help you figure out what is causing this error for you. Nobody else has sent any bugs yet, so if you can get us that info, we can probably figure out what is happening. Send to staff@ifthensoft.com.

If you have found problems with the software, sir, please feel free to send a civilized eMail to us at staff@ifthensoft.com so we can address them--shooting off nasty comments at Versiontracker doesn't get much done. So far you would be the only one complaining about these "bugs," so it could be something that you may be doing wrong or a problem with your configuration.

Website is now back up--and stay away from www.onestop.net for hosting websites--they managed to delete my entire website & all the software and had no idea why or how it happened. Backup? No, they couldn't backup from their files. Anyway, www.hostsolutions.com gladly got me back on my feet with excellent customer support and great service.
