Clone Window 1.3.1 (Mac OS X)
My old machine failed and I am setting up a new one. One of the first things I had to do was come here to get Clone Window. Hadn't realized how much I use it until it was absent. Easy to install. Easy to use. Easy to love. [alert admin]

Schnitz Remote Lite 1.1 (Mac OS X)
This works for me. If you have never done it, it is a little baffling the first time keeping track of which machine you are looking at, the listening and controlling client running something like Chicken of the VNC or the remotely controlled server running Schnitz. It helps to put different background images on the machines. I was able to connect, control, disconnect and reconnect easily. The little dot cursor is OK, although I would prefer a cursor that looks like the cursor on the server, particularly for teaching. [alert admin]

Get Tube 2.2 (Mac OS X)
Other than the obvious, perfect.
I have never understood why programmers always make the default setting be the wrong one, but they always do. Maybe they just want to show off their cool dialog boxes. Anyway, since Get Tube is a program for downloading from "YouTube - The best video sharing site on the net!", I suggest that the very first thing every user do is to open the preferences and change the file type from mp3 (audio) to mp4 (video). Once you do that, this program is everything you want it to be. [alert admin]

SingleFramer 2.2 (Mac OS X)
The new version does indeed fix the problem with getting the last frame to display on the previous day's loaded movie, so set up the next day is easy. The addition of automatic double or triple framing is a very nice touch. I loved this before, I love the new version even better. [alert admin]

Lovely, if you like this kind of thing. ![]()

This program does EXACTLY what it says it will do. If you find this kind of thing interesting, the website has a nice collection of similar programs. Some of them do give the user control. Some do not. (Number 5 does not, but I like it anyway.) If this kind of thing does not interest you, then no, there is nothing here for you. And, yes, the icons are lovely. [alert admin]

DeskPicture 10.02 (Mac OS X)
Could not get it to work, but want a new feature anyway
When I click on the little screen as instructed it just hangs. Had to force quit. After multiple attempts, gave up. If you get it to work, what I really want is a program that will display specific desktops on specific dates. I need a yearly cycle, not an hourly one. You know, put up the flag on Independence Day, that sort of thing. [alert admin]

SingleFramer 2.1 (Mac OS X)
The user interface is totally non-Mac. But it is also totally self-explanatory. I have used SingleFramer for both animation and time lapse. The onion skinning is very nice. The time lapse is wonderfully flexible, allowing rate changes and manual shooting of frames at will, which is quite helpful on processes that proceed at variable rates, like flowers growing and blooming. The program is light, simple, a joy to use. I will, as the program itself advises, distribute it freely. [alert admin]

Load Movie won't show last frame
I love this program, but... When I click "LOAD movie + show LAST FRAME" it loads the movie I load, but instead of showing the last frame (extremely useful) it shows the movie playing in a continuous loop (not so useful). I realize that there is no support and will do all I can to work around this problem, but if I am doing something wrong, I would very much appreciate learning what so that I can stop doing it. Yup. Doesn't run. At least, I hope it didn't run. Wish I had read the comments first. Really should read comments before downloading. I know better than than.

But, of course, that cursor is a CotV thing, as I realized seconds after posting the comment.

Works fine for me. Maybe your motion sensor is hooked up backwards. Should protect your hard drive any time you drop it on the ceiling.

Yup. Downloaded and installed. Seems to run just fine. Fish seem to die even more quickly than real fish. But I have not played with it enough yet to figure out if I am doing something wrong.
