Yoono Desktop 6.2 (Mac OS X)
Works with my Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, AIM, and Yahoo accounts. Doesn't automatically import friends or contacts like Adium does. Looks like it's built as a Mozilla web app. [alert admin]

Chicken of the VNC 2.0b4 (Mac OS X)
This is the best FREE VNC client I've tried. I'm connecting from an iMac Duo Core running Leopard 10.5.2 to 4 WinXP computers running the free version of RealVNC Server 4.1.2 thru a Cisco VPN tunnel and cable internet. I can connect to all 4 remote servers simultaniously too! This works much better than Remote Desktop Connection. [alert admin]

Reunion 9.04 (Mac OS X)
Well worth the $99US in my opinion. I tried several demo versions and Reunion was the best. It handles 2000 names with no problem, works at light speed, and is fully GEDCOM compliant. Only complaint is limited documentation and it takes awhile playing with it to get the interface down. Very powerful database and has the best reporting features I've found. [alert admin]

Cisco VPN Client 4.6.04.0061 (Mac OS X)
Works well with Cisco PIX 501 router on a WinXP Server network. The tunnel is stable and I'm using Chicken Of VNC to access my workstations. iMac SE 600 running OSX 10.4.2. [alert admin]

Thank you for VLC Media Player! I have an iMac SE 600 Graphite Slot-loading with a dead internal drive. I bought an external Lacie Firewire CD-RW Combo drive (SOHC-5232K) from Apple ($139US), but the Apple DVD Player only works with internal DVD drives. VLC works beautifully on my setup and I can view DVD's on my Mac now. There's a very slight clip in the video but that's due to my 600Mhz G3 processor I'm sure. [alert admin]

httpmail plugin 1.41 (Mac OS X)
Just ran the installer over the 1.3.7 version and it worked from the start, without changing the account setup. Tested sending and receiving with no problem. [alert admin]

WeatherPop 1.8.6 (Mac OS X)
Works great under 10.2.8 and is very customizable. Weather information is a little simplified and there's no quick links for radar or satellite, but what do you want for $8. It shows current temp and sky on the menu bar, and a click brings up current conditions (temp, wind, dew point, barometer, sky, and visibility) and a condensed 5 day forecast. [alert admin]

I tried using Mail and I found too many problems with it. The main one being the use of AppleDouble to encode attachments. Most of the time, my mail recipients receive two files and it creates a lot of confusion. Word and Excel files won't open, picture files will sometimes be corrupted, and some mail messages are never received. I have Office:X so I switched to Entourage and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Entourage is faster, more compatible with mail standards (ie. use of Uuencode), and there's no limit to what you can do with the filters and scheduling. The only downside is no support for AddressBook. [alert admin]
