MacSword 1.3.4 (Mac OS X)

Worse than buggy.

This version totally messed up my MacSword. I tried deleting the MacSword preferences and it did not help.No choice but to do a complete wipe of MacSword and all MacSword files and modules until it is fixed. [alert admin]

Jade 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)

iPhoto editing works better.

Editing with the basic tools in iPhoto does a better job. Also, I found the Jade controls clunky and I think buggy. [alert admin]

Acorn 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Confusing.

I find nothing user-friendly about this. The Tools are strangely labeled. [alert admin]

Switcheroo b262 (Mac OS X)

I will try the Leopard version.

The Windows Taskbar is one of the few things right in Windows. The Apple Dock has always been gaudy junk in OS X. The configurable Apple menu in Classic OS was also better than the Dock. The Windows taskbar is intuitive and uniform. I hope Switcheroo continues development into Leopard. [alert admin]

Netscape X 9.0.0.6 (Mac OS X)

Confused.

They release a new version a few weeks before they end it? Am I the only one confused? [alert admin]

Drive Genius 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)

OMG... what a mess!

Congrats to Prosoft, they turned a quality utility into a gold-plated mess that only works booted from an older OS. What kind of beta program did they run of version 2 ?? [alert admin]

1.5.3 is not Leopard Compatible?

I thought 1.5.3 was compatible with Leopard? $59 for compatibility with Leopard? Why not a cheaper upgrade with a downloadable version? I do not need another box. [alert admin]

Miro 1.1 (Mac OS X)

RealPlayer11 better for flash video.

RealPlayer11 automatically lists videos on web pages. You have to do a separate search through Miro to find the video. Miro is therefore impractical to web page videos. [alert admin]

Concerned.

Exactly what I said. I corresponded with company that made this program and they confirm it. By email to me they say they do indeed load code into all cocoa applications, regardless whether or not the program has anything to do with cams.

1.5.3 is not Leopard Compatible?

1.5.3 run as an application is not compatible with Leopard? Well, I am not clear on what you mean. V.1.5.3 is an application. Your competing with the likes of Alsoft DiskWarrior (the king of Mac OS X utilities). It is true they charge similar for upgrades and I have paid it, however, I don't plan to pay for a whole load of such premium utilities high upgrade costs. So, I now choose to keep…

Check the "Save As..." options

I know that. I know you have to save the notes. Bottom line is the notes did not save.

Nice browser, but I don't like the Tabs

I agree, this side draw is annoying and takes up valuable desk space.

A comparison chart between Onyx and Pilot would help sales

That's silly. All you have to do is say the comparison is accurate as of a certain date. So if it is accurate on Jan1, & it is only Jan 20, than chances are it is still accurate. If is now May or June and there were any intevening updates then obviously the customer should be told that there may have been some changes. However, I see no reason why the author of MacPilot can't maintain…

weak

Reviewing the reviewers is truly pointless. Just as some people will praise a program in just a couple of words, like 'terrific' or 'no problems here' or 'it's the best of its kind,' there will be some who criticise an app with a few words. The best reviews will be comprehensive, but short expressions of positive or negative feedback have their place.

iView Media Pro and Application Enhancer

Regarding APE bashing. I say poo poo. Can there be a conflict between APE and something else, sure, just like quite a few pieces of software out there. Unsanity does a good job of keeping their stuff compatible. They do a good job of providing an exclusion list of applications that you can add to help prevent such problems. I have had APE and Windowshade installed about a week now without a single problem. Blaming…
