Microsoft UAM 5.0.11 (Mac OS 9)
for product reviews not discussions of the Pro/Cons of Open/proprietary standards. Since I took the time to write that I'll go ahead and throw out some food for thought: Apple isn't too different from Microsoft in fact when you think about it Apple has control of the OS and the hardware. I'd hate to remind everyone that Mac clones were gone with a snap of Steve's fingers. Ever wonder why Apple switch from zif sockets to their own proprietary socket for CPU modules? My guess? too many cheap cpu upgrades were effecting sales and since Apple has almost complete control over their hardware. Now you have the option of buying a 1.6ghz Athlon for $100 or a 1 ghz G4 for $800. [alert admin]
