iEyes 1.1.1 (Mac OS X)
this isn't really an xeyes clone in that in iEyes, the eyes move in a circle around the major/minor axis's (sic) whereas in xeyes, they follow the ellipse of the eyes. this is even less interesting than xeyes. Just run X11 if you must. [alert admin]

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 2.0b2 (Mac OS X)
I haven't had any problems w/ either B1 or B2 other than it doesn't play nice w/ Unsanity's Windowshade. It leaves the cursor invisible when the window is rolled up as long as the cursor is inside the now invisible window. [alert admin]

JollysFastVNC 0.86 (Mac OS X)
well, I wanted to like it but it's ungodly slow on my setup whereas COT and VineViewer are MUCH MUCH faster. I'm talking approx 30 seconds to draw the initial screen and other molasses-like performance. MBP C2D, 1600x1200 VNC4 server, VPN/1.5M-DSL [alert admin]

Garmin WebUpdater 2.0.0.1 Beta (Mac OS X)
worked fine w/ my TiPB G4 & Nuvi 660. Took a few tries to find the unit though. [alert admin]

AirPort Radar 1.1.2b4 (Mac OS X)
Seems like a nice widget but after installing the 1.1.2b4 on my C2D MBP, the widget forced the disk to grind endlessly when Dashboard was displayed. [alert admin]

SmartLedger 2.06a (Mac OS X)
VT seems to have miscategorized this. From the developer's page....... SmartLedger is try-before-you-buy software. You pay $20 to license and keep your own copy. [alert admin]

Consider downloading the freeware ...
in another life, were you some sort of small ankle biting little dog? does anyone deserve to, you know, feed their family by writing software? Have you even ever tried 5% of the freeware you 'recommend' ? I love and use freeware all the time but many many times, shareware is actually, gasp! better. It's esp. poor form to come on here and stick your nose into every d@mn post w/ your helpful commentary. …

what are you talking about? These guys almost never ever charge for upgrades. I've been using 1P for almost 2 years and never paid for an upgrade (IIRC) If you're a registered user, I doubt there is any $$ cost.

It seems nice but 7 day trial is lame
I've tried/used all of the OSX VNC clients and Vine is, in my experience of using it daily for work, the most stable, fast and full featured client. Do I want to pay $30 for a client? No, but thats the price to get into the game here. If you want and can live w/ lower performance clients that are free, go ahead.

Fantastic app but I hate the new black look
Haven't actually tried it yet (still waiting to load Leopard) but the big black interface is not filling me w/ techno-lust. Agreed, would be nice to have the option of using it or the v3 UI.

Right. That's why RDC 1.x didn't do it nor does any other application I have. Do you have anything worthwhile to say?

You're right. CUPS is so complex and convoluted (well, all printing is) that unless there is something truly MUST HAVE, I can't see any value to updating this w/ non-Apple supplied s/w.

I need help, I can't connect with VPN. Does anybody solve this problem?
Perfect. I needed to disable the Parallels NAT and once again, PPP/VPN was fine. This definitely does work w/ EVDO or in my case, Treo w/ USBModem software
