UK.keylayout 050306 (Mac OS X)

Mac's keyboard is standard

No criticism of the product intended but what this does is create a non-standard keyboard - that used by PCs in the UK. The way Macs keyboards are is normal. Its PCs in the UK that are odd. [alert admin]

RealPlayer 10.1 (build 412) (Mac OS X)

For BBC radio you can use Steam

Steam <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21055> uses its own embedded player and offers lots of extra functions. And it plays Radio 5. [alert admin]

CADintosh X 5.0 (Mac OS X)

Utterly confusing

I went for High Design instead, only $25 education price and a much better manual. Worth a look. [alert admin]

NikonView 6.0.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Grey market

The "serial number" problem you have is probably because NikonUSA isn't that interested in supporting gray market models they don't sell. Nothing new about that. It's been a problem for NikonUSA for 10-20 years. You buy something cheap that isn't supported, why do you think you should also get free software from NikonUSA.

Possibly because Nikon made the camera and have been paid for it. The fact that you haven't used one of their favoured dealers doesn't mean they don't have responsibility for their product. [alert admin]

You can only stream music, not copy it and you can only stream MP3s, not Music Store downloads (iTunes will skip them). (OK, you could get round the restrictions but you always can.) [alert admin]

ecOrganizer 1.2v5 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Why is AM/PM…

described as US/Canada localisation? Why is the 24 hour clock described as European style in the US? Why do Americans think we use the 24 hour clock in Europe? Don't they look at our clocks when they're over here? Just for the record - EUROPEANS USE AM/PM THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE. Thank you. (End of rant.) [alert admin]

Unbelievable crap - DO NOT INSTALL B4 BACKUP of old Version !!!

I don't know if it's the result of an update (possibly the 10.4.11 one) but the 10.5 tools do now work with a 10.4 Server, at least to some extent:

"To administer a Mac OS X 10.4 Server-based server, you need either the Mac OS X 10.4 admin tools or the Mac OS X 10.5 admin tools (except DNS). The Mac OS X 10.4 admin tools only run on 10.4 systems. They do not run on…
