Apple QuickTime 7.0 (Mac OS X)
I have to repeat my warning against installing QT 7. The reason: You need to buy a new license for QT 7 Pro. After purchasing a new license via the (German) online store Apple does not send the license code just leaving me without access to the PRO features thus blocking me from doing my work. The order status says delivery "on or before May 2nd". They should have told me before installing the product. [alert admin]

Apple QuickTime 7.0 (Mac OS X)
After I installed QT 7.0 it told me I need a new registration for QT PRO! I understand that after using QT PRO for many years they do want me to pay new cash for the (hopefully) superior product. So I purchased a new licence through the (German) Apple education store, and hours later I'm still waiting for the new licence code. So if you don't want to be out of the PRO features for who knows how long, DON'T INSTALL QT 7! [alert admin]

SuperDuper! 1.5.1(70) (Mac OS X)
After updating to 10.3.6 all of a sudden SuperDuper works! Was it the external FW 800 drive? Whatever - I am happy now, and I withdraw my earlier critizism. Still I don't understand why the maker of SuperDuper decided not to clone certain filse, due to a recomemndation by Apple. I disabled that function, because I want a 1 : 1 clone. There shoud be fewer options that only confuse me. One button for a straight clone would do the job for me. [alert admin]

SuperDuper! 1.5.1(70) (Mac OS X)
SuperDuper may be doing a great number of things. I would be happy, however, if it did one thing well: a 1:1 clone. After spending hours trying to make a bootable clone, going over the resulting copy with Disk Uitility and Disk Warrior, the clone still freezes. I'd love to give the clown the boot, a bootable clown? Particularly, after spending 20 bucks on this piece of... [alert admin]

I have spent too much time already trying to get CCC to work, It keeps freezing on the "Applications folder". They may have a lot of stuff I'm supposed to read, but then I could learn UNIX. Looking at SuperDuper now. [alert admin]

Macromedia Director MX 2004 10.1r11 (Mac OS X)
it's hard to believe: they still didn't fix a ug that's really offending and superfluous. Or am I missing something? On my PowerBook G4, when setting the stage to Location 0,0 (upper left) in the DisplayTemplate in authoring mode, when switching to full screen, the stage remains where it was with the menu bar visible. When I do a presentation by video projector switching to full screen the stage does not go to the upper left and my buttons etc. are outside the picture. And the built-in transitions are still Director 4 (or earlier). A decent cross-fade remains absent. [alert admin]

Macromedia Director MX 2004 (Mac OS X)
Is there, finally, a decent, fast, smooth built-in cross-fade transition? Or will dmfade work again with Director MX 2004? [alert admin]

Hello, since I "upgraded" MS Word to 10.2.3 (through the latest Office upgrade 10.2.5) the "Language" menu function is no longer there (under the "Tools" menu). It simply disappeared. This is quite annoying since I'm in the middle of writing a bilingual article. Shouldn't we expect quality from Microsoft any longer?
