renewal allows installation on a new machine after those 2 installs have been used up, as you got a new serial! thank god! this is not clear, i wanst sure whatr to do before buying. but i use it a lot. nevertheless some comfort is missing or i havent seen it - like: put deleted files to place x or something like that [alert admin]

Carbon Copy Cloner 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)

seems all good  

i replaced my harddrive in the notebook for a bigger one with a 10.5.4 system and am testing the copy now for about an hour and everything seems fine. ccc 3.1.1 needed 3:52 hrs to clone a "200gb" harddrive (in reality 186gb) with only 2gb free space left. i was really desparate as i had three failed attempts and 3 lost days with migration assistant and time machine backup trys. migration assistant used to work for me in 10.4. . I have not yet tested super duper, but downloaded it too, but first tried ccc as super duper was talking in all options about certain system files that are not recommended to be copied and saying they wont be copied. I have many licenses on the drive where the vendors allow only limited number of authorizations, i dont even remember how many (until i need the program and it doesnt open) and dont want to have the hassle of deauthorizing and reinstalling. So for now all authorizations seem still there. I donated, cause this really helped me a lot now [alert admin]

how is this app compared to peak pro 5?  

it is close to being superior, but the author doesnt see it as a sample editor - at least yet. therefore sample editing doesnt have the same comfort as in dsp quattro or peak....for example you can not select a part of the audiofile with the mouse, you have to use other tools that one has definetly to get used to but they are as said not meant to do what they should do....sounds weird,…

how is this app compared to peak pro 5?  

the application unfortunately is not meant to be a sample editor, more a sound finder, although it is close to being a very good one, but just some easy basic things miss...like cut/copy/paste in a traditional way or record. its still great though. as a sample editor check audacity 1.3.2 beta first..its freeware and much better than the old audacity. it is possible to save selections out of a file without the need to create a…
