SecretShredder 0.2.3 (Mac OS X)

Unasuming

SecretShredder is a quite unassuming app. It doesn't clog up valueable screen space with un-necessary windows and it behaves very well.

I have had some contact with the developer along the way, asking for some features to be implemented and I must say that the support for this product is good. The developer is always happy to listen AND makes an effort to help.

There are freebies on the market and yes I did compare before paying and still paid the free, the free one just feels like it needs more time to develop. Also the free version was shareware that flopped people were not impressed so it became free when it didn't sell. SShredder has always been a solid app from 0.1 on.

Also SShredder does a LOT MORE than the free one even before registration, files, folders and whatever can be given the Gutmann treatment.

Try them all out as I did but this is currently the one to have! Worth my $'s anyhow.

If you D/L and think "Why should I register, it does Gutmann with no restrictions in free mode, remember that it's not actually a free mode it's a trial and you should register if your gonna keep it.

Thanks! [alert admin]

SubRosaSoft Shredder 2.02 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Slow and basic

The features of this product don't justify its price. [alert admin]

pReSS 0.1 (Mac OS X)

Best on the market

I like this, its a good first version there is nothing that can touch it at the moment. There is a lack of a readme bu the developer is right if you know RSS you dont need it. Just click News and Add to add some news. Why do we need documents for that. To load an rss feed you click load! Need I go on.

Theres a small bug with resizing but this product does what it says and does it well.

As for the price, well I just registered my copy. If you use RSS check out the competition but I'd guess you'd be back. [alert admin]
