Bookdog 5.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Anybody that has tried to organize bookmark manually with Safari knows that it would take a lifetime to do what Bookdog can do in an hour or so. Someone here criticized the interface but it's similar to Safari's - it's very functional - I can't understand why anyone would notice. I'm sure that the developer has spent his time building the funtionality and it appears that he has hit the nail on the head. If Apple want to claim the position of providing the BEST browser they need to buy this program and integrate it into Safari. One suggestion: After verifying if the found errors/suspects could be presented in a list with a checkbox to select then globally delete them as opposed to having to work-through the group one bookmark at a time would be a great time saver. Would love to be a beta tester for this utility. [alert admin]

OnyX 1.6.6 (Mac OS X)
OnyX and Quark 6.5 and Trouble.
I believe that the OnyX Reset function as described in OnyX help: "Links between documents and applications: OnyX allows you to delete the files which store the links between documents and applications, as in the rebuilding the Desktop under Mac OS 9. When you launch a new type of document for the first time, an alert message appears. You can open the application choosen by the system, display this application in the Finder or cancel the opening document. When opened, the link between this document and the application executed is stored in a file located in the /Library/Caches/ folder, as every account has its own file."... has causes a dire problem on my machine and it's many QuarkXpress files. In Quark there is a function that allows you to double-click a picture file and open it with it's native application (i.e.. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). After running this function in OnyX (reset) all of my Quark image files no longer can idenify their creator - they show as being linked the Usage window but their creator show "?" and will not open with a double click. The only solution that I have found to repair this is to unlink all the picture files and to manually relink. With many 200+ page catalogs with 1000s of pics this is a bit of a pain. I emailed a detailed overview of this problem with screenshots to the developer and two weeks later got a reply that he can't read English (French). I wouldn't use it again for a million bucks. Eskape MyTV X 3.5.1 (Mac OS X)
Hey - I didn't notice that under FILE > RECORDED MOVIES you can set-up future recordings. That really makes this upgrade a must. [alert admin]

Eskape MyTV X 3.5.1 (Mac OS X)
Same-old same-old. The 3.5.1 preferences window has a new tab for TVTV that seem to be DOA. Best I can tell TVTV is a European TitianTV. The sofware is still about as basic as it could be. There is no help file and the web site is about like the software - basic. It works, it puts a nice, small widow of dish network on my mac for very short money. I wish there was an affordable high-guality TV card for Mac - there seems to be many for the PC. [alert admin]

Quark is great at what it does well which is multi-page documents. It's solution to text and picture box placement in a layout is, to me, the most sensible to use for anyone who navigates/constructs a page using numeric (x, y) coordinates. Text box links, page numbering, runaround are the best solution. Type leading, spacing, tabs, style sheets and indents are beautifully integrated into the program. Quark sucks at interface. If you invest in third party…
