1Password 2.9.19 (Mac OS X)

Great Product / Great Customer Service

I've never had a problem with the installation and use of 1Password. This update, as well as previous updates, have worked fine. While one commenter indicated that the number of updates shows the product isn't ready for prime time, I would disagree. Even its initial version this password and registration management tool far exceeded the competition and what I used before. The continued updates focus on new features and adapting to changes in its interface with other applications. The other benefit of 1Password has been its excellent customer service - prompt, courteous and clear. I contrast this to the total lack of customer service at other companies who abandon their customers after a quick sale. I would recommend this product to friends - and do. (1Password and Vuescan customer service are in the same league. *****) [alert admin]

DiscLabel 4.4.1 (Mac OS X)

Intuitive Features

I started using DiscLabel when it was bundled with Roxio's Toast. Toast 8 now includes labeling software manufacturered by a company other than SmileOnMy Mac. DiscLabel is much more intuitive to use than Toast's new option. If you purchase Toast, you'll most likely still want to keep using Disclabel. This is a decent product. [alert admin]

pagesender 3.5.4 (Mac OS X)

Pagesender, Updates and Customer Service

Highly recommended. I switched to this excellent product more than a year ago after having endless problems with a competitor's product. This software is easy to use and customer support is excellent as well. I'm impressed by the responsiveness of customer service, as well as the promptness in the way updates are released when they are required by Apple OS updates. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 7.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Where is Customer Service?

Ever since Roxio was purchased by Sonic customer service has been virtually non-existant. The web based "Ask Roxanne" should not be called "self-service" but rather "self aggrevation." Access to the support web site's on-line chat feature requires the user to find and click on an invisible link. I needed to call customer service to find it. (The user needs to scroll his/her mouse across the unmarked web page until a hand mysteriously appears and shows the link to live chat. Why didn't I think of trying that?) When I clicked on this link I found it was "temporarily" out of service due to service issues. [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 7.0 (Mac OS X)

Non-Existant Customer Service

I'd rate the product but getting it has been an ordeal due to incredibly poor customer service from Sonic and its shipping agent Element5. When I placed the order I was told I would get order verification and a tracking number. So far I've received 3 useless e-mails from Element5 thanking me for my order. None of the e-mails had anything to do with order status. I called Roxio and was referred to Element5. They know nothing. I tried to use the Sonic website for customer "service" but there are no phone numbers or usable links for customer service. Element5's website also has no phone numbers nor any usable links for customer support. (My initial Element5 contact was via Roxio.) Roxio ALWAYS had very good customer support before being acquired by Sonic. I fear customer service is on a steep downhill spiral. And as far as Element5 "service"? Avoid it if you can find it. What´s the real price??

The $69.99 price is after you send in a mail in rebate form available from Roxio. To obtain the rebate you must show proof of owning an earlier version of Toast. Rxios says the rebate is $30 even though the Roxio / Sonic web site lists it as $20.
