Toast Titanium 8.0 (Mac OS X)

Fabulous update, but awful new interface..

Feature-wise this is a great update; many new options, the integration of Popcorn and Jam functionality, etc. BUT... the interface is just an overkill. why fix what aint broken? overall, the new main window is pretty good in terms of visual clarity, but the animated effects are SO superfluous and cheesy, and really have no added value other than gobbling my CPU; luckily they can be disabled from the preferences, but unfortunately that does not affect the barely-noticeable-but-CPU-intensive horrid yellow toast emblem background the "decorates" the process window. WHY?? why should the burning process bring my computer to it's knees because of a stupid background animation??! it seems as if they thought the burning process is too boring as it is, so they should make it "really cool and fun to watch!", and went on and designed this horrendous non-standard black and yellow dialog with big fat text to make it a sight to remember. and indeed you do. Anyway, as I said, on the feature side - this is a blessed update; but regarding the interface, I hope they'll get their feet back on the ground soon and clean up the mess. [alert admin]

OSS 3D 2.09 (Mac OS X)

sorry, but no......

I'm sad to say that changing presets still does not change the sliders for me. This is really frustrating. [alert admin]

OSS 3D 2.08 (Mac OS X)

Sliders still not moving...

I haven't tried anything else, but since the first thing I've noticed was that the sliders are still not moving when changing presets, I immediately uninstalled. Only to find that the uninstaller does not function anymore. What is going on??! Anyhow, luckily the uninstaller lists the location of every component, so I just trashed them manually. I don't think anything should be said against the developer, since it seems he's working hard at releasing frequent updates - I'm sure he's not very happy with how things turned out, so hopefully we'll see the app reemerge into it's past glory soon. OSS 3D 2.02 (Mac OS X)

What a tragedy

I was so amazed by OSS 3D v.1 that I could not go back and listen to my music anymore without it. I was really happy with the way it was as an iTunes plug-in - the only slight turn-off was it's high CPU usage - but now it's just useless. I can understand the benefits of evolving into a system-wide solution - although personally I don't need it that way - but the problem is it is just not functioning properly. I can hear a difference between the settings, as opposed to the problematic initial release, but it just doesn't sound as good or that different as it used to. The worst thing though is that the sliders aren't changing position when I change presets! the sound slightly changes, but the sliders remain in place; Moreover, when trying to change them manually, they will move to their new position but won't move again when trying to change presets. What a bummer. I agree with a previous user who said it just looks rushed and as if it was published prematurely. I hope it won't be too long until we see a functional and stable version as it used to be. [alert admin]

Hmm...

Dennis, This problem does not relate specifically to FontExplorer, but to certain fonts being enabled and thus overriding the system font. Specifically, I found that when I enable my Postscript version of the Helvetica Neue family, most widgets are affected and seem as their text has been bumped upwards out of the widget. In this case you should simply reorganize your fonts so the relevant ones are enabled and do not conflict.
