Function Keys Mapper 3.6 (Mac OS X)

Beware of 4.0

I just made a bad mistake. FKM just notified me that a newer version is available at: http://alphaomega.software.free.fr/functionkeysmapper/Function%20Keys%20Mapper.dmg I downloaded it and discovered much to my chagrin that this is a paid upgrade. Nothing in the accompanying docs informs you of this fact. The first time I discovered this was when it launched and told me that my serial number is invalid. "Nuts!" I grumbled and tried to revert to 3.6. Sorry, no go! The old serial number no longer works period! It won't work in 4.0 or 3.6. To call this highway robbery would be to putting it mildly! Mac Pilot 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

This is really messed up!

I installed Mac Pilot 3.0.1 over 2.5.8 and attempted to use it as a trial copy until my registration key comes in. I am told that I can't use it as a trial copy because I have been using Mac Pilot 3.0.1 for over 84 days and that it has expired! Hello? Mac Pilot 3.0.1 hasn't even been out for one day let alone 84! Path Finder 4.8.4 (Mac OS X)

PF 4.8.4 can be downloaded here:

http://www.cocoatech.com/mirror/PathFinder.dmg It isn't CocoaTech that messed up, it appears to be a bad path name in VersionTracker. Griff [alert admin]

Google Desktop 1.4.2.1007 (Mac OS X)

What is this?

Could someone at Google explain what this is supposed to be? Google Desktop 1.4.2 was released last November. When I get Google Updater to try to explain what is going on, it will not respond with any update information. Griff [alert admin]

Ghost Sphere 2.3.1 (Mac OS X)

I get 2.3.0! Where is 2.3.1?

There seems to be a problem with the link. I have downloaded what purports to be 2.3.1 three times, and each time I get a version that says it was created Dec. 07 and is version 2.3.0. Anyone else have this problem? Griff [alert admin]

MacGPS Pro 7.5 (Mac OS X)

Sorry...!

A bit fast off the mark. The upgrade link appeared in my inbox a few minutes ago and I just downloaded version 7.5. Also a very fast note of explanation from Dr. James himself arrived. I am truly sorry for giving such a hair-trigger response. Now, time to whip out my Garmin and enjoy MacGPS Pro 7.5... Griff [alert admin]

How to rid my iTunes of the effects of this?

It appears that Hear has installed some detritus in various places on your hard drive that are still there when you trash the application. I would suggest that you download an application cleaner that looks in all places on your drive and gives you the choice of trashing all associated files and resources. I use Hazel to do this for me, but there are plenty of others around. Once you get one of these, I…

Problem Solved!

I downloaded another copy of the updater and ran it. It did another install which seems to have corrected the problem. ImageBrowser can now run just fine on my machine. I guess the first download had a problem. Griff

Won't run in Leopard!

Sorry, I should have included this. It shows clearly that it is a Universal application. So, there is no reason why it should decide not to run on my machine! Griff

Won't run in Leopard!

I should add that the application icon has acquired a white circle/slash international symbol (indicating, I presume, that it will not run). Griff

Where do I download?

Duh! I forgot that there is a "Check for Updates" function in the Menus. I just used it and Shiira was updated to version 2.2 quickly and easily. Thanks for the links... Griff

My paid for registration number no longer works!

I just contacted the author and he sent me a new registration number. He also said that a block of numbers have been disallowed on this newest update since they appeared on pirate web sites. This is very strange since I never give out my registration information to anyone. Hmmm! If you are duly registered, but your registration number has been blocked, an email should have been sent to you with a new number when this…

Problem?

Don't worry about the pokey startup after a thorough cache-cleaning. This is normal. Since onyX has erased most (if not all) System and User Cache files in your computer, they all have to be rewritten from scratch when you start up again. This takes time. I always go and fix myself another coffee after I have restarted after a maintenance run. It is usually at the login screen by the time I get back. Griff

too many sites it won't open

I would suggest you have an incompatible plug-in in your Internet Plugins Folder. I just tried the two sites that you mention and both load just fine in my copy of version 5.5.4 Beta 1. Other then that, you might want to modify your DNS servers and/or HTTP Proxy Server. Griff
