Opera 7.5p3 (Mac OS X)
The link provided allowed me to download a tar.gzip, which expanded to an Opera.app package. Unless I missed something this should NOT be in the VT MacOS section. [alert admin]

LimeWire 3.6.8 (Mac OS 9)
Crashed on first run, dropped into MacsBug
OS 9.2.2, MRJ 2.2.5, First install of Limewire 3.6.8, set Limewire Memory to 21MB minimum 64MB preferred, first run, c. 300MB Free memory, VM off, things running at the time: “Finder” “textSOAP engine” “PointDeviceDaemon.2m” “NetBarrier Lib” “Control Strip Extension” “BJ Backgrounder” “OneClick 2.0” PowerPC unmapped memory exception at 1AA521C8 TerminaterawipmStreamModule+47B2C The heap at 0171D570 is bad How do I find out what "TerminaterawipmStreamModule" is or what is at heap 0171D570? I'd like to recommend Limewire, as all versions before 3.66 have run OK and generally worked well with Gnutella. [alert admin]

WaMCom 1.3.1 (Mac OS 9)
It's good to be back on Mozilla after they dropped OS9. Thanks so much to the developer! OTOH, I cannot understand why it's *much* slower (going forward) than iCab 2.91 for me, as IE5, NS7.1, and Mozilla 1.2 [alert admin]

X Ball 2.0.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Nice, but I like DX-Ball better.
Very nice, but for a simpler but more exciting game, try DX-Ball: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/16121 [alert admin]

WannaBe 1.0b14 (Mac OS 9)
I agree with the other 5-star reviews, and use it for many purposes. One "feature" not mentioned is that being image-free means no more browser stalling (even on broadband) while it waits for one gif or for a page to have its %^@$^ "page counter" returned. Another feature I like is under the Go menu, "Open This Page in"... various browsers. There are various things I'd like to see (which wouldn't slow it down (?), just fatten it up): forms, bookmarks, history, a simple button bar (back, forward, etc), and default font choice. But it does what it does extremely well. [alert admin]

Weblog Poster 1.3 (Mac OS 9)
Works, but unanswered questions
Back on April 27th I tried this tool (version 1.2) on Radio, and then emailed the developer: I got it, got your docs page on screen, set it up, and it worked the first time, no glitches. So thanks, it makes my life easier. But one thing I didn't see in the docs was if one has to have Radio running for your tool to work. I could just quit Radio and try that, but if it works, then what happens with my local copy of Radio files. Does it auto-synch next time I run Radio? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm new to Radio and of course to your tool. ____________ But actually there was a glitch, so then a second email to him minutes later: ____________ I'm using iCab, and I dragged the URL off the address bar into the bottom link glossary. Here's what I dragged: http://www.yahoo.com Then, I didn't notice that somehow the tool converted it to: http://www.yahoo.com Ô Yahoo Here's how it came out in the Radio post, which of course doesn't work: http://www.yahoo.com [apple] Yahoo Maybe this is just an iCab glitch? __________ I haven't heard back from him as of today, May 13th. Enigmo 1.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
it with VT stars. Just know that if you are on a really old Mac like mine (8500/120 with G3/400 card and ATI Xclaim VR128, runing 9.2.2), don't bother, the game runs slow as molasses. I'm sure it's great on modern hardware. [alert admin]

and tried it. Two stars just for the effort. I don't have "an ear" so I can't comment on that, and maybe it's great when registered, but as it is, in demo mode, it doesn't compare well at all to the demo mode of QTKeys: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macos/7860 [alert admin]

And I was a total beginner. The developer is VERY helpful. The "virtual directory" listings is exactly what I needed -- avoiding the need to write html pages listing folder contents. [alert admin]

I discovered that I had back cache disabled on my G3 card. Since enabling it, everything is of course faster, and DX has no jerkiness.
