File Synchronization 1.4 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't work on large folder

Tried FS between iMac G5 and Intel iMac on a pair of folders containing thousands of files, many of which had been copied from a Windows machine (they all appear to have valid modification date). The scan process quickly bogged down to the point where it was running so slowly that I could have done it faster manually. Seemed like it would take days to finish. [alert admin]

USB Overdrive 10.4.5 (Mac OS X)

Breaks volume and eject keys

On my iMac G5 (Mac OS 10.4.6) with Macally iKeySlim keyboard and EcoMouse, installing USB Overdrive stops the volume keys (up, down, mute) and Eject key from working. [alert admin]

Macally USB Mouse/Trackball 5.3 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't for other user accounts

4.2.2 was working fine. Now with 5.3, it works fine for the main admin user. But for a second user account (non-admin) MacallyMouse indicates no mouse connection. [alert admin]

xBack 3.4.2 (Mac OS X)

xBack priority

To avoid xBack causing any slowdown for your work, you need to reduce the scheduling priority of the xBack process. In Terminal, type

renice 20 -p pid

where pid is the process ID for xBack which you can obtain from Activity Monitor. Of course this only takes effect until you log out. Developer should make this permanent. [alert admin]

DjVu X 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Works fine, but...

Works nicely in IE 5.2.3 for reading ICAO journals (ICAO.org). It allows me to read under Safari, but Safari crashes when I close the window. Also, the DjVu preference window freezes under Safari but works ok under IE. [alert admin]

File Synchronization 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

Works perfectly and…

efficiently. I need to synch folders between an OS X machine and an old 68K Mac running 7.5 – FS does the job very nicely. Beautiful scan report shows differences in folders before synching. Now if only mod dates on files copied to iDisk were correct then FS would work there too. [alert admin]
