I've been using Calc for some time, long before 5.4 has been out and I've really enjoyed using it since it does everything I need it to and keeps me from having to open Excel. I've had good success opening all MS files I receive from co-workers from mulitple versions on PC's and Mac's.And the files I save as Excel are readable going back to them. I've found it to be easy to learn and I like the simple layout - its a little bit retro, but its part of the charm of using a product that is pre-bloatware, and proud of it. I like the modern - I'm running Tiger, but Calc has been great for me going back to my first Power PC, some Performa crap! I digress. Building charts are straight-forward, and its got fine graphical support. Spreadsheets can be complicated to build but I use software that allows me to get where I want to go, not where it wants me to go. Calc is proven superior in this task. [alert admin]
