Mac Pilot 2.5.5 (Mac OS X)
Great utility ... been searching since OS X began ![]()

Love this software. Its best feature is one that's not really advertised -- this thing finally brings true Login Items management to OS X, the functionality many of us have been yearning for since OS X made Extensions Manager, Conflict Catcher, etc. fall by the wayside. Overall, it's tremendously useful -- reviewing the software functionality itself and stripping away other issues mentioned in this forum. Hey, at least all the updates show that the developer is continuing to support his/her product and continuing to improve on it. Maybe a better beta process is warranted to avoid the frequent updates, but updates are not too bad to fight through. [alert admin]

iTunify 1.7.6 (Mac OS X)
Good, but large question looms
I have purchased this software and use it. It works for me and I'm glad I paid for it. I understand that it is a collection of scripts that are probably available elsewhere, but the GUI and ease make it worthwhile for me. BUT, if it is true that the code is stolen from the hard-working Doug Adams, then this software should be pulled from the market. And, if that claim is proved, I'll head over to Doug's site and throw him a few (more) bucks through his Paypal link -- which all of us who use some of his hundreds (thousands) of scripts should do anyway. TAKEphONE 7.50.021 (Palm OS)
When I got my Treo, I tried just about every address book/dialer out there. This one is clearly the best, worth every penny. Others are cheaper (and others are more expensive), but the combination of preferences and features is unbeatable. Great integration with whatever email or messenger app you choose. Nice built-in Web search features, too, that are somewhat hidden among all the phone features. Highly recommended software. [alert admin]

SnapperMail Standard 2.3.7 (Palm OS)
When I got my Treo, I tried just about every email client out there. This Snapper is clearly the best, worth every penny even (especially!) when you compare it to the freebie/included VersaMail or Sprint Mobile Messenger. The combination of preferences and features, including auto check, is unbeatable. Highly recommended software. [alert admin]

Spent a good deal of time testing the three main golf scorecards listed on VT, both shareware and freeware. Scorecard wins hands-down, for ease of use, display options, statistics provided and interface. That, and the developer is clearly a golfer who knows what golfers want in a scorecard. [alert admin]

CosmoPod 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Yes, it does work. Developer responded to my question with a new version that works like a charm, as advertised. Simple solution to get videos out of Safari. [alert admin]

CosmoPod 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Can't get the demo of 1.1 to do anything in Safari, at any of the listed sites. No response from developer. Has anyone had success with this version? [alert admin]

ZillowMe4AddressBook 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Great little tool. Does just what it says. Thanks for making this, and for free, too! Wonder if it could be made available to work in Safari, too? [alert admin]

Resco Backup 1.35.2 (Palm OS)
This is simply the best backup program for my Palm T|X. The ability to lock programs into memory is a must-have with the NVFS system. Given the T|X's tendency to reset itself quite often, Resco Backup has saved my a** on more than one occasion. In my brief dealings with their customer service dept., a fine company to work with too. TypeIt4Me X 2.3 (Mac OS X)
Now, with the Import feature, the final piece to this already great software is in place. Works exactly as advertised, is easily customized and is not a bloated system hog. Clean, lean and more than worth the shareware fee. [alert admin]

I got a similar error when using Perian's built-in update feature. But a fresh download and install worked fine on my Dual-Core MacPro running 10.5.5.

My guess is nothing's new. I'm on 2.6.3 and haven't upgraded in many months. I agree, though -- very little new is needed. A great program.
