Photo Desktop 1.5.2 (Mac OS X)
... And that's good enough for me! I've often created desktop backgrounds with snapshots added in a "polaroid" style and this application does it quickly and easily. The software is very low on resources and has not crashed out once. I love having the ability to update the images on a whim. [alert admin]

This software is simply incredible. Having been a long-time user of the Suitcase line of font management utilities, I have had to deal with every headache imaginable when it comes to dealing with fonts. In the past two weeks, I have put Font Explorer X through hell with customer-supplied fonts, trouble fonts, and PC fonts and Font Explorer X has held its ground. With drag-and-drop capability, adding fonts couldn't be easier. Add to that auto-activation plugins for today's leading software and we're talking real efficiency. I also quite like the drag-and-drop feature to export fonts; this makes for a quick and easy collection when transfering files to an outsource supplier. If you often find yourself purchasing commercial fonts, the integrated Shop connects you to the Linotype website fluidly and allows for one-click downloads of their great font line. The support documentation could be a little more detailed and you will need to be relatively familiar with the concept behind font management utilities to make an easy transition but I'm sure even the least experienced user would be able to make it work 9 times out of 10. To think I wasted money on Suitcase Fusion. My recommendation is to put your wallet away. [alert admin]
