DiskWarrior 4.1 (Mac OS X)
The 4.1 CD updater was posted today at <http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/diskwarriorupdate.html>. The difference between the Upgrade CD and an Updated CD is (from their website) "Uses your original 4.0 CD to create a new startup CD containing DiskWarrior 4 version 4.1, which adds Leopard compatibility. The new CD will only start up the same Mac models as the original CD. The included Read Me lists details and requirements." [alert admin]

SRS iWOW 1.1.8 (Mac OS X)
Prior to iWOW I had purchased Volume Logic. It quit working with the introduction of iTunes 7. A couple of months later iWOW came to market and Volume Logic still did not work so I bought iWOW. (Both are similar creations of Rogue Amoeba.) iWOW requires an active internet connection -- how uncivilized -- and installed okay on my home system, but it conflicted with the non-working Volume Logic, so out came VL. Due to firewall blocking iWOW would not install at work -- very limiting. Home: iWOW; Work: nothing. Shortly afterwards Volume Logic was updated to work with iTunes 7. I installed it at work and replaced iWOW at home to have the same configuration at each location. Next, iWOW is updated to end the conflict with Volume Logic. I think now I will be able, at least at home, to have both installed and have choices! It was not to be. iWOW now will not install because their Big Brother server says I have installed it too many times. I agree. I have installed it too many times -- for it not to be working. One problem: that serial number is not in use anywhere on this planet. I emailed them about this three weeks ago and have not even had the courtesy of an automated response. Keep your money. If the product does not work for you after the purchase is complete you are just out of luck. Take a look at Volume Logic instead. <http://www.volumelogic.com/> [alert admin]

Apple Security Update 2007-005v1.1 (Mac OS X)
Server Settings NOT Maintained
The update installs properly, the initial reboot is slow, but, otherwise normal. Unfortunately, not all running services are restored on a server. I cannot speak for them all, but, of the services my server was running, DNS and Web services had to be manually restarted. All then was well. [alert admin]

Naiocast 1.4 (Mac OS X)
I will review the app after I use it, but I would like to acknowledge the author for creating a solution to listening to Nicecast behind a corporate firewall. [alert admin]

Logos Bible Widget 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Yes, it does use a bit too much screen real estate. It does only display one verse at a time, but there are arrows to immediately go to the next, or previous, verse and chapters. Click along as you read. Having only one verse at the time is not a problem since there is an easy mechanism for clicking through text. The should make it easy to reduce the screen usage in a future version. Thanks for what has been done. [alert admin]

A one-trick-pony that doesn't perform the trick too well. It seems more apps are not supported than are. Don't bother contacting them for support. They do not reply. Ever! [alert admin]

browserTunes 0.1.7b (Mac OS X)
For an early beta this is a great start. It provides a functionality many of us can use -- and it works now! It will only get better. [alert admin]

FileNamer 1.0b2 (Mac OS X)
I just used this to rename two batches of files -- each over 80 files. Each setup step worked as stated and previews were displayed. It only took seconds for the renaming process to occur. I prefer this configuration to other renamers I have used. [alert admin]

Turn off the "Meters" display and you should find that processor usage will drop into a reasonable range.
