coconutWiFi 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Nice, works. A bit light on network info ![]()

It works, is accurate, and doesn't break anything -- which is great. It would be very useful to show network strength, then I would pay for it. [alert admin]

WiFind 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Interesting but uneven performance. Cryptic/impossible uninstall. ![]()

Its a really interesting and useful idea, but the execution is a bit rough. Often causes the Airport menu to redraw partially/strangely or fail to appear forcing you to many-click the airport icon to get a list of networks to select/see. Samples of network strength seem to be inaccurate when compared against other wi-finder desktop programs. Very annoying is the absence of an uninstall. The program begs you for money/registration and you cannot get rid of it and its aggressive begging. Even the totally manual install described on their web site (find the package deep in the OS X library and delete it) fails to completely uninstall -- leaving a beg-ware menu attached to the Airport menu forever. "... and leave your destination disk unmountable." Extremely buggy and unstable. Stay away. [alert admin]
