Stock Manager 4.56 (Palm OS)

TinyStocks "support" is the worst I have ever encountered

The customer "support" at TinyStocks is bad beyond description. After submitting a negative review of their unbelievable poor customer service, the developer disabled my registration codes for both StockManager and WeatherManager and refused to give me new registration codes! Here is the correspondence between us: ============================ Hi, That's correct, your registration code is disabled for both the latest Weather Manager and Stock Manager. I don't remember the exact reason right now but usually it's because you got a refund. At 06:54 2008-01-08, you wrote: Hello, I need a new registration code for StockManager 4.57 for Palm OS because my registration code which worked with version 4.56 (3F74FB) is no longer valid. I am using the program on the same device (my Tungsten T3) and my Hotsync Code is still 67:61:72:74:68:20:6D:69:63:68:61:65:6C:73:. I still have StockManager version 4.56 (but not the Mac conduit for version 4.56), and I have re-installed it because it will accept my registration unlock code unlike version 4.57. My most recent hotync log is below. Thank you for your help! Garth Michaels =========================== This is amazing! The best suggestion I could offer anyone is to steer clear of this program and the lunatic who developed it. Garth Michaels [alert admin]

Absolutist constantly submits false updates

On many PDA web sites, and with many of their products (a number of which I have registered when they were first released back in 2003 or 2004). Absolutist increases the version number and falsely claims that their submission is an update. Their usual update commentary is "New Devices Are Supported." On numerous occasions, I have downloaded these "updates" only to find that the program dates were identical with the version 1.0 or 1.1 I originally purchased in 2003 or 2004. Once again, I wasted my time downloading a old, non-updated version that the developer submitted just to get unethical exposure to create new sales under false pretenses. This practice is unethical and unfair to registered users, potential new users, and other ethical companies that only post updates when they have really updated their products. And I wish that major PDA sites would monitor this much more than they do and stop these false submissions for the benefit of everyone. [alert admin]

Stock Manager 4.47 (Palm OS)

Exporting is deficient and customer support is very poor.

StockManager’s ability to follow your stocks and and chart that data on my Palm T3 is adequate (I am using version 4.3.6 for Mac). However, I took two stars off my review because: the program’s export function is poor, as you cannot export how much your stocks go up or down each day and customer support is just horrendous!. When I sent TinyStock's "support" an email describing the export deficiences described above (as well as errors in alphabetical listing), they told me that they cannot customize the exports to please everyone and suggested that I might script something in Excel to get it the way I want (which is impossible because the critical stock change information I now have to enter manually stays on the Palm and is not even available for Excel - it is not exported, which is the main reason I asked for support in the first place). If you want a stock management program with critical exporting functions and responsive customer support, I would strongly suggest that you look way beyond StockManager and choose another, more effective program. Best tool to keep track of the sotck market

Gee, I sure am glad that the exporting function works well for you. That makes one of us. It is not a shame at all that I took off points for a couple of significant problems. The exporting function is intermittent at best, and the lack of quality customer support (or even minimal courtesy) is consistent. I don't know about you, but lousy customer support alone is worth the loss of…
