Power Hour 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Feedback/feature request

I like this, but: *could you add the option to gradually fade out (say over 4 seconds) the end of each 60-second chunk -- and possibly a fade-in at the beginning? It sounds very abrupt at the moment. Also any possibility of allowing the choice of length of chunk? Set it to 2:30 and combine the previous feature, and you have instant music for ballrooom dance. (Sort of thing you'd really want to do with Audacity or Sound Studio, but they're not scriptable.) *might be nice if you could tie the counter to what's actually playing -- it carries on counting down when iTunes is paused. *the text 'no shuffle' on the 'shuffle playlist?' dialogue is displaced *you need a new icon; something with fewer colours and making better use of the available space -- i.e. not rectangular. Barquee 1.1 (Mac OS X)

General feedback/feature request

Nice, but would be better if the play/back/forward buttons could be disabled, and (this is what I'm really looking for) a time slider, showing position in the current track, and allowing change of position in that track, were available. An uninstall option should be included in the installer seeing as it's distributed as a .pkg file and creates (at least) 4 files/bundles in various folders. [alert admin]

Combine PDFs 1.0 (Mac OS X)

freezes Finder

Nice, unfussy little application, but for one thing: it seems to freeze my Finder after using it, so I can't move any files by drag and drop; I have to use mv. This persists after relaunching the Finder. I can't imagine how it could have this effect, but it does, time and again. [alert admin]

FadeText 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Shall use this only from now on

This is amazing - it's so simple but can be made so personal. Don't add anything else to it. It's beautiful for being uncluttered. [alert admin]

Ultimate Alarm Clock 1.4.5 (Mac OS X)

Unusable

This is probably the worst alarm clock I've ever tried to use. On launching it set up an unstoppable, constantly repeating alarm for something or other, which could only be stopped by searching for and deleting the files the app had dumped in my Library folder. (Presumably killall would have stopped it too but this is meant to be friendly GUI territory.) I was interested because of a feature not necessitating input to stop the alarm (i.e. I want something that will speak text without popping up an irritating dialogue box to click) - no luck here. Also note that it seems to be made up of at least five separate programs, which don't seem to do much other than launch each other. [alert admin]
