Fone2Phone 2.2 (Mac OS X)

NOT Shareware

I just downloaded this because my iPhoto Library on the Mac is corrupted so I was hoping to copy back some pictures from my iPhone. When I started the program it tells me to connect the phone and turn on bluetooth. The iphone was connected and bluetooth turned on. I clicked the "Phone missing" button and and was told to turn on bluetooth. Reading further it says that when the contents of the phone appear you must enter a registration number to continue. If it cannot be used before paying for it then it is not shareware. I will not pay then hope it works so its not for me. [alert admin]

iRingtunes X 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Does not work for me and trial is almost useless

I just tried it on my Mac Pro. It loaded the list from iTunes OK. I found it difficult to select part of a song because you cannot hear anything until you select a section the try it. After I eventually found a section of about 16 seconds I clicked to save it to itunes and was then informed the maximum length in the trial version is two seconds! Two seconds is virtually useless even for a trial and it didn't save anything after three attempts anyway. [alert admin]

Symantec Norton AntiVirus 10.1.2 (Mac OS X)

I give up

I just tried to update my definitions and it tells me my subscription has expired and I have to go to their site. It asked where I am so I click Hong Kong and end up at a Chinese only site! (less than 90% of Hong Kong is Chinese) so I go back and choose USA then when I try to follow the instructions to find the version it is all for Windoze. Forget it Norton. I don't have time for this crap. [alert admin]

3D Desktop Aquarium Screen Saver 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Its great

When I downloaded the demo I found the annoying ad page a bit too annoying and almost trashed it but then I just left it for a while and realized how good it really is so I paid for the full version. This is the best aquarium screensaver I have ever seen. It really is very good. Just one request/suggestion. How about separating the water sound from the hum sound? The water sound is pleasant and relaxing while the hum can get annoying. [alert admin]

3D Desktop Aquarium Screen Saver 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Very annoying and too limited demo

Looks very good - for a few seconds after the initial ugly advertisement and before the screen goes blank for another advertisement. Not enough to see if I will want to pay for the full version as it is too annoying to turn it on after you see it once. [alert admin]

Beholder 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)

I don't get it

I downloaded this to try it. The first thing I noticed is there is no Google search! I can only search one source at a time (not serious) When I get results I click a thumbnail and see the very ugly enlargement of the thumbnail (far better to just look at the thumbnail) I cannot see any way to view the original full size image. There is no URL to the original. There is a link which when clicked results in a URL too long error. It is fast but it is useless if I can't even find the source of the images. [alert admin]

No MySQL support?

It says it supports all major databases but I don't see any mention of MySQL. [alert admin]
