Flagit! 1.2b (Mac OS X)

Would be great if it worked

Flagit is a great little App which I was happy to buy after the trial period expired. The author is very quick to communicate. HOWEVER - I have a problem whereby "As completed" and "Clear Flags" stay greyed out. Whether this is a result of my using Spamsieve (I can't see how, though) or some other factor, I don't know. What I do know is that this wonderful little app, which should be part of Apple Mail IMHO, has a flaw, which the author, by his own admission will be fixed but he can't say when. For me it has spoiled the basic idea behind Flagit. I hope the author can sort it out sooner rather than later. [alert admin]

In ticking the "No" recommend button I do so with reluctance and in the hope that the author will get A into G & fix the problem. [alert admin]

Query

I have just received a special offer from SmithMicro for this product. Is it the same or are they selling a competing product by the same name? [alert admin]

A Breath of fresh air

I have been a Firefox user for a very long time now but I now have changed over to Flock as my main web browser. I find it snappier, more responsive and Safari like but quicker. I hope the author(s) will stay the course and keep developing this excellent piece of software. [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5120.0 (Mac OS X)

FINALLY!

FINALLY! Shared applications now works on my Mac Pro with X1900 XT Graphics Card. Not without some agro though. I found the windows boot failed just short of bringing up desktop icons and start bar. I had to close down, restart in Safe mode (F8 at startup), boot into safe mode with networking and restart windoze. At this point, Parallels quit. I then repaired permissions, restarted and finally it worked. What a rigmarole. What a pity these guys hide behind a huge communication firewall. One would have thought they would value feedback but apparently their ego is hidden in a dark place and we are just punters to them. Shame, its turning into a decent application DESPITE their best efforts. [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 build 4560.0 (Mac OS X)

Parallels Revisited

Parallels Revisited. To be fair to the uncommunicative Parallels Developer, I revisited installing the latest version on my Mac Pro 2.6GHx Quad running OS X 10.4.10 with 4Gb RAM and Radeon X1900 GT video card. After yesterdays failure, I repaired permissions, ran the installer, restarted the Mac, opened Parallels from the applications folder, installed parallels tools and restarted Win XP Pro SP2 with updates. After the restart, parallels unexpectedly quit. I restarted it again and everything was fine. I would therefore recommend this installation method to those who have had no success with this latest iteration. Hopefully the developer reads these reviews, it may be the ONLY way to communicate with them. [alert admin]

This software unfortunately has become bloat-ware

Your comments have become bloatware in themselves as you have posted 3 identical comments.

Just stay away.

Please engage brain before opening mouth. We all know that hardware gets redundant at the speed of light and that Mikrotek have always lacked support for a large number of their scanners. Scanners are so cheap these days that surely the best answer is not to go hypercritical of a dedicated shareware author but to simply upgrade your equipment to a scanner that works (eg Canon). Put yourself in his position. Manufacturers are loth to…

Build something that works

Why don't you? You seem so clever with your words! Put your money where your mouth is an do something original yourself. B for beta is at the beginning of the alphabet so even a simpleton like you should be able to understand what that means. Thoughtless commentaries by equally thoughtless people can cause great harm. If you don't like it, don't use it but most of all don't criticise without giving reasoned and…

Unstable on MacPro

Frequently crashes and needs a restart to boot again. Dantz were bad enough but this new crowd are quite awful. What a shame there's no competition

DON'T BUY!

Perhaps its the singer not the song? Pages certainly opens appleworks files and is excellent value for money for middle of the road desktop publishing etc. Try again and also try not to give pontificating comments unless you have thoroughly researched first. Good luck!

Excellent, but price is too high.

A shame the developer hasn't heard of "Halve the price, triple the profit"

Interesting Development

It seems so dopey to me that Symantec should drop the Macintosh ball when it is so obviously in the ascendency. If they stick to windoze, they may have nothing to sell shortly
