CiphSafe 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Looks great!

I searched around and tried many different tools to store my password. I chose this one from all of them!! It's simple, which is a good thing. It's lightweight. And the thing I liked the most was the ability to search quickly. I am trusting that it uses OpenSSL in a secure way. It would be great if a third party can comment on the implementation of the security. [alert admin]

iStat pro 4.01 (Mac OS X)

This latest version - not so great

I lost my "Fire" skin in 4.01. Not a big deal there. But I like v3.3 better. The ability to move around the sections are annoying and always highlight. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the previous version as I am new to newsgroups, but the network traffic isnt being detected. ie. it says my download speed is 5kb/s when it should be well over 100. One my other computer I think I'll stick with v3.3 for a while longer. [alert admin]

Palm Desktop 4.2.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Palm Desktop sucks....but I got it working.

Using 10.3.5, you can get it to install properly by launching it as root from the terminal. sudo open <install file> Now to set up iCal............ [alert admin]

REALbasic 5.2.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Not Recommended.......yet.

I've been using Realbasic 5 for about a week now. It has excellent potential but its not there yet....actually its far from it. I'm trying to develop an app cross-platform (Mac - WinXP) and there are tons of bugs and discrepancies. Oh ya, not to mention lots of limitations. I'm also trying to use REALDatabase....another headache. There are more bugs than I remember already. I would have thought that by now Real Software would have mastered this app but they need lots more work. [alert admin]

UnRarX 1.5.3 (Mac OS X)

Does UnrarX like Panther?

I've been using 1.5.2 with Jaguar for some time now and its a great program. I just installed Panther and put in UnrarX 1.5.3 and it doesn't start up. I flicker in the dock and then nothing. I put 1.5.2 back in and its working fine. Strange but am I the only one experiencing this problem? For this reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5. [alert admin]

MkLinux Floppy Driver 0.96j (Mac OS X)

While this version…

*works* for Jaguar, It's not worth using. It takes approx 10 mins to mount a disk.....and I've been trying to copy a small text file for 10 mins now and it's still chugging away with no progress shown. It has serious performance issues. [alert admin]
