Tagit 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Experimenting I found that to set a tag you must drag the file_to_be_tagged onto Tagger. If you add two or more tags they must be separated by an underscore: tag1_tag2_tag3. You may drag several simultaneously to set common tags to a group of file. It would be nicer if the authors wrote an introduction on how to use it. To soon to rate. [alert admin]

QuickBoot 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I tried it on my MacPro, to change from one HD to another. It closed every program but did not finish the shutdown. I forced shutdown using the power button. On starting up the second HD started up as expected, and again on restarting, the original. Guess there are some bugs. I hope their fixed soon. [alert admin]

WhatSize 10.3.92 (Mac OS X)
The previous version said that my iTunes Music folder had 200 plus Mbytes instead of the 23 Gbytes it really has. This version reports the true size. [alert admin]

SMART Utility 1.0.0B1 (Mac OS X)
Yesterday I tried it on 7 computers for a total of 10 hard disks. I suspected one of them (in fact I was replacing it), but Disk Utility (and SMARTReporter) said S.M.A.R.T verified (though it didn't pass Disk Verify). This utility clearly marked it as failing, showed that it had had a lot of errors (consistent with what I suspected). It also revealed two other HDs with problems. I would like it even more if documentation where to explain some of the attributes, the relationship between Value, Worst and Threshold, etc. I recommend it. [alert admin]

I have just tried it. Very nice. You can drop a lot of pictures at the same time and they will be tagged. Doesn't indicate whether it's North or South, East or West, but I guess it will be soon fixed. [alert admin]

Downloading with Firefox and decompressing with TheUnarchiver, it shows a warning: "The disk image you are opening may be damaged and could damage your system" and then it mounts OK . If it's decompressed with the default Archive Utility it fails. Downloading with Safari evidently uses the Archive Utility and fails

SmartReporter does the job for free
You are wrong. Disk Utility, Smart Reporter and similar others are evidently using what Apple's functions tell them. And it's not enough, as I have seen time and again. I continually see drives which Disk Utility says are OK and they are not. If you are a plain user you can just download Smart Utility and use it every now and then free. If you are in the support business it's well worth it's price

If the hardware is slow, slow it will stay. But download the software and try it. If you like how it works for you, then pay it.

I apologize. The problem lies with GraphicConverter. I verified with Photoshop and the geographical info appears correct.
