Carbon Copy Cloner 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Download error

I'm getting an error when I try to download this: "Forbidden You were denied access because: Access denied by access control list." I also get an "Update Error!" when I try to download the update from within CCC. [alert admin]

Wacom Tablet 6.08-2 (Mac OS X)

Should work with 10.3.9

Although the VersionTracker page says 6.08-2 only works with 10.4 and up, Wacom's page for the driver says it will work with 10.3.9 as well. [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5584.0 (Mac OS X)

Getting tired of this

Parallels' whole "you must login to download our free update" is a PitA. It doesn't even work most of the time! If these updates are so important, maybe they shouldn't be making it so difficult for their users to access them. [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5584.0 (Mac OS X)

Account now required for free update

Rather than letting you download the update, Parallels now takes you to a login page! This is just nuts. I own a legal copy of the software (the full version of which is available for a trial anyway), and I resent having to jump through account creation hoops just to access a software update. I'm definitely going to give Fusion a serious look when the next paid upgrade for Parallels comes out. I can only imagine what a pain that's going to be when this is what they make you do for a *free* update! [alert admin]

Camino 1.5.4 (Mac OS X)

1.5.4 freezing

Since I upgraded to version 1.5.4, Camino has been freezing about once a day. Is anyone else running into this? I'm going to downgrade to 1.5.3 and see if the problem goes away. [alert admin]

WindowShade X 4.1.2 (Mac OS X)

Fails in 10.4.11?

I have not been able to get this to work since I installed the Mac OS X 10.4.11 update. Is anyone else having this problem? [alert admin]

Reveal 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Feature request

I love this program - it's the only thing I've found that lets me change the camera EXIF information on a photo (very useful for photos from a film camera that have been scanned). It would be wonderful if there was a way to batch edit a group of files, though, since opening over a hundred files individually to change the camera/photographer/copyright information gets tedious pretty fast. Keyword Manager 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Wish I'd gotten it sooner

This is an amazing app! It's turned assigning keywords to photos from a chore to a breeze! The ability to make keywords subsets of other keywords, so that adding one automatically adds the other, is worth the cost alone. Once you try it, you'll never want to go back. The only thing I can't evaluate is the support/documentation, because it's so intuitive that I never needed to read any docs, and so far, I haven't needed to contact their support. [alert admin]

Apple Site: Incorrect Download Link!

It appears that since Safari 3.1.2 is part of the OS X 10.5.4 update, Apple currently doesn't provide a separate Safari 3.1.2 Leopard installer, although they do provide a Safari 3.1.2 Tiger installer. Their web page does not make this clear - it claims it will download Safari 3.1.2 and gives you the choice of Leopard or Tiger. If you choose Leopard, you get the Safari 3.1.1 updater.

Still no comics support?

I'd be happy just to be able to scan in current comics with bar codes.

*** Inaccurate Temperature ***

It's not the program that determines the temperature, it's the data source. Try switching to a different one and see if the results are more accurate.

Unsuccesful Trial

No, run as root enables you to back up your system files. Without it checked, it can't get access to those files, so it can't back them up.

Finder crashing?

Search for them in the Finder, with visibility set to find visible and invisible items. Then just drag the file or folder from the Search Results window to the Exclude items window in FS.

Finder crashing?

I've found a work-around of sorts. I exclude the following files from the backup: /private/var/backups/local.nidump /private/var/db/netinfo/local.nidb/ /private/var/db/dhcpclient/leases/en1 /private/var/spool/cups/ /File Transfer Folder/ So far, it hasn't gotten stuck since I did this.
