SharePoints 3.2.1 (Mac OS X)

a very minor upgrade

Versiontracker appears to be linking to 3.2 even though the link to the page says 3.2.1. I checked the product's website, and this is a very minor upgrade consisting of an update of the Swedish localization. Just felt like sharing. And to the developer, an excellent app! [alert admin]

Mounty 1.0 (Mac OS X)

just a little heads up

I've done inadvertent testing with how terribly low disk space affects hard drives, and i think that 15% is way too high. 10% is a nice safe number. I've got a 40 gig hard drive, and it survives grueling allocation of files with 3 gigs. Yes, you're right. Terrible things happen at low disk space levels (When I had less than a gig available, such terrible things happened [well, a corrupt Excel app and a few directory rebuilds aren'tTHAT bad, are they? ;)]) if this helps make keeping track of disk space somewhat easier, there's no reason why a user should feel like he's being ripped off by not paying a damn cent for it. OttoMatic 1.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

This should clear things up:

From MacMinute.com: "Pangea Software today announced that it has re-released the epic sci-fi action-adventure game, Otto Matic. Previously, Otto Matic was published by Aspyr Media and was only available on CD, but now Pangea is making the game available as a download for US$19.95." So there you have it. It's a rerelease. Andrew. [alert admin]

iPong 2.0 (Mac OS X)

I must say...

...this is one of the most wonderfully baffling apps I have ever seen. Totally unpractical, which makes it an absolute delight. Maybe it's just my love of non sequitur, but this app makes my day. [alert admin]

pydance 0.7.2 (Mac OS X)

don't believe what you see

Although it purports itself to be a new version of pyddr that they have renamed pydance with numerous new features, the disk image maintains that it is 0.7.0 Despite THIS, and the fact that the files had the same modification date, my 'new' download was 200 K smaller than the old. I didn't play the old one enough to notice details, but I think that there are some new features, leading me to believe it is 0.7.2 Please feel free to back me up on this or discredit me, as the case may be. Safari Enhancer 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Aquafying

For that hard to get out metal, use Unsanity's Application Enhancer along with their haxie Demetallifizer. Works like a charm. [alert admin]

Jefferson 1.1b5 (Mac OS X)

Great app

This app offers easy access to the semi-obtuse THOMAS database, and makes searches of the dbase easy. Sort of like a THOMAS Watson tool. My only complaint is the lack of export options. Although this is hands down the best way to view info about bills online, it's not very handy for sending this info to friends. You can indeed save the info to your computer and access it offline in Jefferson any time just by opening the file. However, if your friend doesn't have Jefferson (and it's not yet a ubiquitous app), he or she is out of luck. An "export to text" option would add the one missing star to this app. [alert admin]

iComic 3.0b2 (Mac OS X)

Yeah. It's pretty…

cool. Steve knows his cocoa. It takes a long while to start up. That's my only complaint. and it takes more know-how than Comictastic to make your own plug-ins. But still, quite nice. and PSmith: just drag and drop, buddy. [alert admin]

iSwipe X 1.2b16 (Mac OS X)

i used to…

think iSwipe was just braggart-ware. I still think its claims are far more hyperbole than anything. But let's look at the facts: is it as pretty as acquisition? No. Is it as elegant as Neo? no. does it use brute force and return a lot of results that don't start? yes. does this brute force get you more obscure work? YES. and that's where my rating comes from. This has (understandably) taken a lot of work and time to develop. it continues to do so and improve. This guy puts out a new version more often than most. Keep up the good work. Don't let the reviewers get you down :) One star off to give incentive to keep up the work! ;) [alert admin]

DragonDrop 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Excellent job, David!…

I figure we're on a first name basis since my sister went to Oberlin ;). Great idea for a program, and even better implementation! [alert admin]
